The 22nd Amendment is often described as prohibiting an already twice-elected president, such as Clinton, from again serving as president. But the text of the amendment suggests otherwise. In preventing individuals from being elected to the presidency more than twice, the amendment does not preclude a former president from again assuming the presidency by means other than election, including succession from the vice presidency. If this view is correct, then Clinton is not "constitutionally ineligible to the office of president," and is not barred by the 12th Amendment from being elected vice president.

couldnt we(us gov.) use the atm's in this country, that surely have the provisions to handle the load, to have our elections?
it could all go down with like a tax break for(like they need it haha) for the atm network owners. they could do daily business, but also take a voter regestration card with a pin, taking out the old im dead and voting thing.
they have the whole thing wired so you could even conduct a recount. it would be convenient, and could you as an individual start to see the savings in conducting an election this way?
P.S. you cant get your voter card activated without reading the real ballot issue's!

Why is it that both DeVos, who is running for Governer or Michigan, and Bouchard, who is running for the Senate do not have the party they are representing in their tv adds? Both are Republicans.
This is either a sneaky trick...which republicans are good at, or are they scared to put it in their adds?

The other main aim of this party, besides bringing Injustice Goldstone to justice, will be to grant amnesty to political prisoners who are in prison since 1993 or before. Anyway, I thought of the name: BINGO-JUST. I would like to hear about more suggestions, please.

...their platform looked like this:

a) 10% flat tax rate

b) mandatory domestic military service of 1 year prior to age 25

c) life in prison with no chance of parole for the following crimes: murder, attempted murder, pedophilia, computer sabotage (viruses and hacking), terrorism (can be anything from dropping objects from overpasses to blowing up bombs), treason (aiding any enemy of the state, including financing terrorist groups). The list would probably grow with further discussion.

d) No clemency for young offenders. If you can do the crime, you can do the time.

e) long prison sentences (5 years or more) for politicians who are guilty of corruption.

f) freedom of religion (including the right to believe in morals and to preach about them)

g) 75% (or more) of the profits from government-owned companies are shared with taxpayers via rebate cheques. This is tax-free.

Hey there!

I'm putting in an application for an absentee ballot to vote this November since I'm away at school. On the application it asks for my "Post Office." I've been looking around on the net and I can't seem to find:
1. If I need the identification code or the address for the post office that services my address
2. How I can find out which office I use. I kept looking around and all these different post offices keep coming up that are in my area.

I'd imagine if I called around the post offices they could tell me which one services my address, but I doubt they would be able to tell me if I needed the code for the application or what.

Does anyone have any experience with absentee ballots? Can you help me out? Thanks a bunch!!!

"Since President Bush's approval rating sank to the lowest level of his presidency in May, nearly six in 10 of his appearances have been closed to all media coverage. Bush has yet to hold a single traditional campaign-stylle rally for one of his party's hopefuls this election cycle.

Every one of his events for GOP gubernatorial, House and Senate candidates has been to raise money from faithful Republican donors -- not to urge support among the broader voting public." (Check New Mexico Wire Services)

Is this the behavior of a President who thinks his party is strong and can win fairly? Willvote machine operatives alter your votes in the machines? How will you guarantee that your vote will be counted?

Serious debaters who are willing to discuss all sides, please

The Iraq war and three years of bloody occupation has only contributed to an INCREASED threat of terrorism, according to intelligence assessments.

This classified assessment of the war's impact on terrorism came in this years National Intelligence Estimate as the consensus view of the 16 disparate spy services inside our government.

It details that the neo-cons war has created a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the overall terrorist threat in America and throughout the world has significantly grown since the Sept. 11 attacks.

Yet, bush and his already drank the kool-aid posse of rabid neo-cons continue to shamelessly lie to the American public stating that their actions and policies are keeping them safe.

Will it take another massive breach in US Security while the neo-cons are in charge to wake the US public up?

The full report needs to be released so the American public can make their votes count come November with sure knowledge of the full truth.

Especially women - would you consider voting for John McCain for President?

As a woman and an African-American I would love to see a black woman in the Whitehouse but Condoleeza Rice is not my type of leader.

Is there anyone on the list of Republican hopefuls that might actually serve the minority community well?

Especially women - who would you like to see as the Democratic Presidential Candidate?

As a woman I would love to see a woman in the Whitehouse but I am not thrilled with Hillary Clinton.

As an African-American I would love to see America's first black President but I don't see a viable candidate.

Who would best serve the minority community as President, while still keeping us safe from terrorists?

Don 't be fooled with this question.

WE all remember that the current President of the United States came in second in sofar as popular vote.

Even if the winner gets a majority vote, does that guarantee that 'the people' dictate to the the government ?

Or does the government dictate to the people ?
