Richard Nixon was the Republican candidate, Hubert Humphrey was the Democratic candidate, and Eugene McCarthy ran as an anti-Vietnam war candidate and received substantial support for being a third party candidate

Herbert Humphrey against Nixon in my voting place McCarthy did run but did not get on ballot that was who I wanted to vote for. Glad went looking to see what questions were on ballot, because completely forgot G Wallace ran as spoiler.
