couldnt we(us gov.) use the atm's in this country, that surely have the provisions to handle the load, to have our elections?
it could all go down with like a tax break for(like they need it haha) for the atm network owners. they could do daily business, but also take a voter regestration card with a pin, taking out the old im dead and voting thing.
they have the whole thing wired so you could even conduct a recount. it would be convenient, and could you as an individual start to see the savings in conducting an election this way?
P.S. you cant get your voter card activated without reading the real ballot issue's!

why not use a code specialist to write the code? and of course there is a paper trail. or the atm's wouldnt work first of all. how do you think they get to the bottom of problems? second most aging types who cant operate a butterfly ballot can work an atm. then there is the fraud thing. if a hack type writes the code, it'd be almost bulletproof, since voter cards would correspond with voter records. it would be conveniant, and also the programming could come down from the networks.
now remember this is theory, but also remember what it cost to print ballots. And anyone who has done a job for the gov knows to double the bid before you start cutting.
