As an example, by principle I believe that burning the flag is an acceptable form of expression although I would not personally do it (at this time). I know people that are pro-choice but would not personally have an abortion.
Granted these examples are liberal but I'm sure there are conservative ones as well. But my question is, how many people would actually vote against something they would personally favor, or vice versa, because it would violate a greater principle?
