Blogger Sued Over Topless Aniston Photo
Associated Press 02.21.07, 8:13 PM ET
A Hollywood movie studio filed a lawsuit claiming gossip blogger Perez Hilton posted a stolen topless photograph of Jennifer Aniston on the Web. Universal City Studios Productions LLLP filed the suit Tuesday claiming the stolen image was posted on the perezhilton Internet site by Mario Lavandeira, aka Hilton.

The picture was allegedly "misappropriated and illegally copied" during production or post-production of the 2006 romantic comedy hit "The Break-Up," starring the actress and Vince Vaughn, the suit said.

The shot of Aniston, 38, was not included in the final version of the movie, which earned more than $118 million at the box office.

The lawsuit, claiming copyright infringement and filed in U.S. District Court, said Lavandeira "posted all or parts of the stolen footage from the motion picture on his Web site."

The suit seeks an injunction barring further distribution of the picture and requests a court order "directing the U.S. Marshal to seize" the copyrighted material from the 28-year-old blogger.

There was no response to an e-mail message to Lavandeira seeking comment on the suit.

The complaint demanded a jury trial and monetary damages to be determined by the court.

Last September, Aniston and celebrity photographer Peter Brandt settled a lawsuit regarding topless photos Brandt shot of the actress in late 2005.

"It's a confidential settlement," Aniston attorney Jay Lavely said. "The matter was amicably resolved."

Aniston had sued Brandt in December 2005, claiming he invaded her privacy by using a telephoto lens to photograph her inside her home when she was topless or partly dressed.

She alleged in the lawsuit that Brandt used "invasive, intrusive and unlawful measures" to capture the images. Brandt said he took the photos while standing on a public street about 300 yards away from Aniston's home.

My uncle is an employee at my university and I am his nephew. He asked the human resources of the university whether I am eligible to receive tuition benefits because I am his nephew. They said, as long as he claimed me as a dependent child in his income tax form, I am eligible to receive free tuition. I am an international student and my authorization to stay in United States was given to me by the U.S immigration because of the university letter saying that I can receive free tuition up to 8 semesters. I only used 2 yet. However, now the university is saying that they can’t offer me tuition benefits form my uncle’s employee benefits anymore because they say they made a mistake in the beginning about my eligibility to tuition benefits. So if they can’t give it anymore as they promised, i will have to leave the country. Can I take any legal actions and reclaim my tuition benefits under this situation?

Purely hypothetical question... let's say the cops try to pull over a motorcyclist riding a large displacement sport bike. The biker takes off when he sees the blue lights and disappears into the horizon. BUT, the cops manage to get his plate number first. Will they legally be able to prosecute the registered owner based on that information? The owner would probably argue that he wasn't the driver of the motorcycle at the time the offense occured.

These past few years, China has been developing very fast. They are communist, yet we are friends with them and still trade with them. If they become like the Soviet Union was, how would you think this might affect our economy, due to the fact that China is a major import/export country, and if they do become like the Soviet Union, how would you think we could deal with this matter?

What is real is how bad the toxins being put in the air are. Whether it is causing warming or not shouldn't matter. What should matter is that somedays alerts are posted for people to stay indoors because of pollution levels. What is real is the known like between carcinogens in fossil fuels and mercury with cancer and many other ailments. Whether the earth is warming naturally, because of our influence, or not at all SHOULDN'T MATTER! While the politicians squabble about this, and the people squabble with them, little is being done to protect us, and the environment.

All Global Warming does is get votes for elections. No progress will ever be made on it because of that fact and that fact alone. You are all being used by the politicians you voted for.

I mean no disrespect. Just my opinion.

it seems like I've seen on here several times where Republicans think if everyone in a party doesn't stand up and say "we think this is bad" that means that they think it's "good"?

I mean... I've never heard Bush denounce donkey porn... but that doesn't mean I think he likes it?

most people don't like the same things... just because they don't make a HUGE DEAL out of not liking it... it doesn't mean they like it...

I mean who does the denouncing anyway? And if one member denouces it publicly, does the whole party?
