What is real is how bad the toxins being put in the air are. Whether it is causing warming or not shouldn't matter. What should matter is that somedays alerts are posted for people to stay indoors because of pollution levels. What is real is the known like between carcinogens in fossil fuels and mercury with cancer and many other ailments. Whether the earth is warming naturally, because of our influence, or not at all SHOULDN'T MATTER! While the politicians squabble about this, and the people squabble with them, little is being done to protect us, and the environment.
All Global Warming does is get votes for elections. No progress will ever be made on it because of that fact and that fact alone. You are all being used by the politicians you voted for.
I mean no disrespect. Just my opinion.

I'll tell you Aaron. My point is that as long as Global Warming is the question and issue, nothing will be done. Your opinion means that nothing will be tone about toxins, which are real and need to be dealt with whether the Earth is warming naturally, or by our influence. As long as everyone has your opinion, nothing will be solved about the real threat. See my point?
Thanks for your thoughtful answer.

Global warming is really occurring, and it has the potential to cause disastrous effects. This has been verified by climate records and by such things as melting glaciers. How much of a problem it will be depends on how much fossil fuel is left.
Actually, global warming started 8,000 years ago from human and cow flatulence. It prevented an ice age, which should have come about 8-5 thousand years ago. The cold was beginning to win out over the second millennium, until the Industrial Revolution spewed carbon dioxide in the air. Since then, average temperatures have been shooting upward, and I don't know if that ice age will ever occur. We should be in the middle of it now.
Peak oil is a worse problem; if gasoline runs out at your local stations, you will see what I mean. Peak oil is intertwined with global warming in a complex manner, and most of what you would do to prevent global warming will also postpone peak oil as well.

But global warming does matter, whether man made or not. The hotter the Earth get, the more the polar ice caps melt, which changes the ocean currents and raises the sea levelEventually most of the low lying area would be flooded, causing the necessity for migration & extinction.for both animals, & plant species from the ice ages which always follows global warming
If we could somehow slow that trend, then we put off the day when all of this will happen..

The real question is: "Is the global warming we're seeing the result of human-caused pollution, or Earth's natural heating and cooling cycles."
There's no point in using either the bully pulpit or the force of law to curb carbon emissions if our planet is going to warm up anyway; in fact it's an expensive waste.
An even more interesting question is: "If global warming is just a natural planetary cycle, how can we intervene to prevent the massive damage and relocations that it willl cause?"
Blind, Temujin? What are you talking about?

There's not much a puny human can do to alter geologic processes of glaciation and interglaciations (warming periods) that have occurred for as long as the planet has existed.
We can plan ahead to live differently as it gradually warms. Humans have done it before.

I would like to know where Al Gore got his extensive training and research in Global Warming. Then bring him on national television to debate this subject with an actual scientist who studies weather patters and climates.

You are right about one thing, it is your opinion. However, I strongly disagree. What if our forefathers didn't care about how we lived and didn't do things to make our lives better. Isn't that what we are suppose to do for those coming behind us.
Just like renting an apartment, always leave a place you have been better than the way it was when you got there.

The Sun is burning hotter. Just look at the Martian ice cap getting smaller. What did the USA do to cause that, land a couple of battery operated rovers there?

It's cow flatulence that is causing global warming. Dairy Farmers should be prohibited by law from feeding beans, broccoli, or other gassy foods to cows, and any bovine who asks you to "pull my hoof" should be shot on sight.
