I want to know the difference between economics and politcs of middle ages and present? how are they alike?

Regarding European middle ages the systems of economics were both essentially free market. A system of coinage, banking (both from the Templar's as well as Jewish lenders) existed for each kingdom. The economics revolved around both national trade as well as international trade.

The politics were based upon those who held the power after the collapse of Rome. A system of nobles who pledged loyalty to a sovereign as opposed to our republican ideals was in place. The church held a prominent place although not as overwhelming as historians would have you believe. The trickle down theory did not apply as serfs and peasants often held very little economic power. Freedom of speech was limited to a certain degree but we seem to be retrograding today also and losing what we had.

Try getting books that contain quotes from actual people living in that time..also remember the other civilizations that were in flower at that time other than Europe.
