The Democratic Party is notorious for increasing taxes, there's no arguement there.

But IF they get into the White House in 2008, how are they going to handle tax increases? We've lived for 8 years with a reduction in taxes, making things pretty steady for everyone in the country. Since the poor make up a large portion of the Democratic Party, wouldn't it be risky for the Democrats to raise taxes, thereby hurting the poor and possibly losing that base?

He's the best person for the job in my opinion. He has the most impressive resume, far more experience than Obama's two years in the senate, and isn't as polarizing as Hillary Clinton. I still think he won the 2000 election. Why doesn't he give it another shot? I think he'd be a great president. This country would be much better off today if he had taken the oath six years ago rather than George W.

Here are your choices (this is kind of a Poll but I want the explanations if you want to give them):

One another,
Sen Dodd from CT,
Sen Biden from Del,
John Edwards (former Sen form SC/ VP Candidate),
Gov Richardson of NM
Tom Vilsack former Gov Iowa,
or someone else.
I will keep this question live until the nomination and track changes. Thanks.

shot a man, and the president didn't have time to deal with it because he was trying to give the control of our ports to the supporters of the very terrorists he is trying to save us from?

Will that make the history books, and when?

What other things from this presidency do you see yourself struggling to attempt to explain to your grandchildren so they can pass their history tests.

He isn't even close to being right on any major issue. Especially the last, which in light of his blunder in Iraq will go down as the worst management of US resources in history.

Of course, he and the wealthy in America are dong great...

While poverty increases, Americans suffer lower wages, less benefits.

Bush is fortunate to preside over such good times -- They could be GREAT times under competent and ethical leadership.

I am from Georgia and was caught in Dawson County.

The charge is going 83 in a 55 and was recorded by a Laser.

However, this 55 mph zone had just been changed from a 65 mph zone, and I was gunned from 1000 feet away. Also, the cop who gunned me followed my car without lights on for a good 1/5 mile before turning on the lights and pulling me over. All these factors seem a little suspicious to me.

Anyone in law or with good examples of this, please feel free to comment. However, if you're just going to say "man your dumb lol" or "that sux sorry" etc. without making a valid point, this does not constitute an answer and, having been warned of this here, it will be removed under the guidelines of Yahoo!Answers in that it does not qualify as a response to the question.

Thank you all.

Another 18 American troops died in Iraq today. Not ONE of them found a weapon of mass destruction.

Isn't Bush's deployment of new troops to Iraq just a stop-gap measure to replace the troops he has killed in his hunt for weapons of mass destruction?

In the past few months, I have become interested in the sex offender issue. What has struck me is all the studies and statistics point to adults in a child's life (parents, step parents, relatives, babysitters, coaches, ministers and priests, teachers, etc.) are overwhelmingly and statistically responsible for child sexual abuse and abduction in the US, rather than the rare "stranger danger" situation so hyped and promoted. Yet whenever the media covers this issue, especially the sensationalistic coverage, it focuses on the stranger cases and rarely if ever discusses the familial abuse. I've come to the conclusion this is done for two reasons: the media is seeking circulation and ratings and to hype familial abuse is not sexy; and two, people reject the idea of familial abuse, preferring to believe stranger danger is more prevalent because it's too horrible to believe most abuse is occurring within the family unit or closely related to the child.
Comments anyone?

A few months ago I won a judgement against my former Slumlord, in the amount of $3650.00. He has more than enough meens to pay this amount, but he has chosen to continue on in his ignorance. I went to my local courthouse and asked for what they call a payment hearing, at which he will have to bring all records of his finances, show all property he has, etc. What I asm wondering at this point is, if it might be better for me to offer him some sort of settlement offer, if he does have to come here for court, it is about 500 miles driving, plus a 3 hr ferry ride, plus hotel costs, also I will be able to recover interest, process server charges, and court filing fees. I would rather just get all of this over with, what would be a fair amount to offer him to settle, how long should I give him to pay, and how should I word my letter. Thanks for any tips!!!!!!!!!!
