It is to prevent the U.S. from using bully and brute force tactics. The U.S. isn't using diplomacy, it is telling middle eastern countries what to do. Those who don't do as we say are dealt with.

North Korea has nukes, while Iran doesn't have nukes. We aren't even touching North Korea, instead we are messing with Iran. The U.S. needs to disarm it's own nuclear weapons before it tells which countries can and can't have nuclear weapons.

By the Non-Profilirean Treaty (NPT) of 1970, Iran has every right to produce nuclear weapons as Russia, China, and all other countries do. Also, if Pakistan (which is runned by a dictatorship) can have nucleur weapons, why can Iran not have it?

Iran's neighbour is currently occupied by U.S. forces. That probably makes them a bit jittery. And their leadership is pretty fanatical. The clerics who run country are pretty hardcore. And thier President is a guy who things the holocaust never happened, and believes the world could end any day now.

As for North Korea - they are the most isolated nation on the planet. They're a totalatarianist, communist, stalanist regime. Need we say more> Oh yeah, thier leader is nuts too.

We don't know that Iran has nuclear weapons, we know they want them because Israel has them. China has seen to it that N. Korea has them but aside from testing them China has kept tight control on them. They don't want this nut to start a war until they say he can. N. Korea is just a buffer zone for China. China has always tried to keep a buffer zone between themselves & other nations. It is their security blanket.

It's for the same reasons that the United States would like to keep its nuclear weapons.
