He's the best person for the job in my opinion. He has the most impressive resume, far more experience than Obama's two years in the senate, and isn't as polarizing as Hillary Clinton. I still think he won the 2000 election. Why doesn't he give it another shot? I think he'd be a great president. This country would be much better off today if he had taken the oath six years ago rather than George W.

You and I see eye to eye and Al Gore is the man that could change this country and get it going in the direction it needs to.
I am afraid that he was too disgusted in 2000 to ever run again but I wish he would. He was my candidate then and still is. If he decided to give it another chance he would be the man to beat.
This could seriously be HIS time.

Doesn't matter if he runs or not.

Every time a democrat comes up with an actual plan to do anything, their plan looks a lot like what George Bush has already done.

That's why democrats are continually running on a platform of hatred for the other side. There are no "good" alternatives because the "good" plans are already taken.

Example: War on Terror

The only sensible thing for Americans to do is fight terrorism. If we don't, they'll come here.

Democrats almost always form a plan around retreat and surrender. Leaving Iraq always involves a plan of retreat of some kind, and there is no honorable way to abandon your allies to their enemies.

Democrats can't formulate a plan for Iraq without pretending that our service members are losers and are part of a failing policy.

Democrats can't get traction on any of their plans without exadurating the numbers of casualties and without making America look bad.

All combined spells disaster for democrats in '08. How can America elect a president who believes and wants the worst for our country?

True. But, I think he knows all too well that he can make more impact fighting global warming as a private citizen than he can in the political arena. He's been able to engage both the citizens and the leaders of countries around the world without being hampered by responsibility for the convoluted mess of American politics.

When it comes right down to it, what he's doing is probably more important than the Presidency. That's a short-term appointment; he's engaged in an endeavor that needs as many champions as possible for as long as possible. It makes me respect him more for having made that choice, but I'm truly sorry as well.

He is not running because, so far, we have been extremely lucky. If he does want to be a president I would suggest he team up with Jimmy Carter and they could run for President and Vice President of Botswana (sorry about that, Botswana).

They could flip a coin to see who would head the ticket, because it wouldn't make much difference anyway.

Barring that, he could continue to champion the same causes he is championing now. (Anybody got a windmill handy? I hear Al could use one now that he has an environmentally friendly horse).

The democratic party wouldn't back him. He's been out of the spotlight for too long. Both parties need strong household names out there to win the election. This one is too big to leave to the chance that people will fall in love with Al Gore in 2 years. I think he's tackling enviornmental issues now....he's probably happy with that.

I thought that Al Gore was the best debater of anyone who has run in the last four presidential elections.

But, I don't think he wants to expend the kind of energy and effort he would have to exert to win.

He is "highly" polarized! Him and his stupid "Global Warming" theories... he is a textbook case of a person on the verge of insanity! Just look at him; and listen to the way he speaks, (in that ridiculous way he attempts to "articulate"). Geeze!... The man's a nut case!
Since few men are wise enough to rule themselves, even fewer are wise enough to rule others! (Especially Al Gore!)
I can't believe anyone, in this day and age, could seriously consider a madman such as him!?
You gotta be shittin' me!!!! (Unbelievable!)

He's too busy doing what ultra-liberals do best: fear-mongering people into believing in perposterous nonsense like Global Warming. BTW, are y'all freezing out there in California? It's cold here in the East, too!

why would anyone want that crackpot, treehugging, idiot in office?

Gore would have personally appologized to osama bin laden for the fact that civilians forced the fourth plane down, and made a guarantee that it would not happen again. The man is more of a socialist than hitlerly clinton. He says we cant take our kids to private schools yet thats where he sent his.

Because he has finally had enough punishment.
I mean come on, if he ran again he'd only be asking
for a spanking like you getting caught by Grandma with
your hand in the cookie jar.
