blame liberals the same way that conservatives blamed liberals when the war in Vietnam went down in history as an American failure?

Or

Have conservatives done such an effective job at stiffling liberal dissent that conservatives will have no one else to blame but themselves if the war in Iraq goes down in history as an American failure?

I hope you saw the new movie by Clint Eastwood about the heros of Iwo Jima. In a few seens these big power business men give there cards to the service men to come and see them after the war. When our heros tried to contact these men who were from Yale in the movie they could not get a job! all the hero's were left with very low jobs and had a hard time with life. Our heros fight and the CEO of the military industrial complex reap all the money as the men die and then when they come back heros they are ignored.

We need campaign finance reform.

Campaign contributions and the influence they wield are the primary source of corruption of government officials.

We give huge tax breaks to corporations who in turn spend huge sums of money on campaign contributions. This, in effect, makes campaigns publicly funded but without the fairness of true public funding and with all the corporate strings attached for future contributions.

Thoughts?

Your voices were ignored before Bush decided to wage war on Saddam and Iraq, on the basis that Saddam has links to Al-Queda and would slingshot nukes your way. This has now been proved false, and yet you are silent. 100 or more people die everyday in Iraq - America has no solution to this problem and i find it very damn strange that Insurgents or Al-queda would go around and blow up poor innocent Iraqi people, what have they to GAIN from this? Just because you hear something on your 'GOVERNMENT OWNED' OR INFLUENCED news channels does not necessarily mean you know something, you just know what they have told you and nothing more. However, your attitude towards people in Iraq is damn right RACIST. Yes! Let them die like filthy dogs, deep down inside we really hate those Muslims and anything which is different to our superior way of living. The outer crust - the fake understandings and feelings is a curtain hiding the true face of your evil, which is reveiled when you allow....

To me illegal means not legal or against the law, so when did illegals get to be exempted as law breakers. If I, a legal immigrant, breaks a lawful law, I get charged, tried, and sent to jail if found guilty, so what is that any different from illegals since they broke the law by entering the U.S. illegally? Breaking the law is illegal no matter what your reasons are.

I have read pretty much all of the documents of the founding era that are worth reading and there is no writer who has explained or tried to justify the American Revolution in light of Romans 13:1, etc. These men demonstrate a knowledge of the Bible sufficient to inform us that they knew of these passages. My question is: How did they explain/justify their rebellion (or did they?) when they knew it was contrary to the teaching of the Bible? Even if they were Deists and not at all concerned with strict adherence to the Bible, not all colonists were Deists (in fact, they were very religious). Therefore, some explanation would have to be offered to the non-Deist colonists to justify a rebellion against the crown. I am looking for their arguments, if any. I don't buy into the argument the Founders didn't respect the Bible. Obviously, their intimate knowledge of it puts the lie to that. My question requires an answer from one who has more knowledge of the history than I do. Not guesswork.

I would like to know why these people in Southall, Middlesex and probably other areas are allowed (with the help of police) to close roads to non asians etc for their celebrations 2 or 3 times a year,, yet if British people want to celebrate a small stretch or quiet road it is always denied? Surely we in our own country should have more right to celebrate St. Georges day etc?

and how it is almost impossible to get another party elected, like libertarian. So, I was thinking, that if a canidate ran for a position as a democrat or republican and won office, and then when election came around again, that canidate declared he was from another party, like libertarian, do you think he/she would be elected? (that is if he/she did a good job in office). And if you think so, do you think that this could be the way to get other people besides demos, and repubs into office? I know there are a few independent canidates in office right now, but not really enough to do much.

It seems to me that Republicans view Democrats as weak-kneed pacifists who wouldn't say boo to a goose. And themselves as always ready to take up arms if it seems the US is threatened.
If this is the case, what do Republicans think of the fact that President Bush dodged the draft during the Vietnam conflict?
Seems to me he's happy to send other kids to war but was too cowardly to go himself.
