like what parts of the DNA do they use, how can they track a person down with it, basically anything you know about DNA will help, or list some good websites too, remember i have 10 points to give!!

Many states now require that if you are in jail, you provide a sample of DNA (swab the mouth) When a crime is committed, investigators collect evidence, hair, body fluids, finger prints and all to be run thru the crime lab.

Once all this is collected, they look at their suspects and at some point, maybe able to get a match on the DNA. If a suspects DNA from body fluids is present at the crime scene, it says they were their.

DNA only tells an investigator that the person was there at the scene. It does NOT tell anyone that such person is guilty of a crime. So, what they do is use it as one more piece to complete a puzzle.

DNA-deoxy ribo nucleic acid-does not have parts. DNA is the genetic pattern that a person has. They use the whole "DNA" to convict someone.

police officers has nothin to do with that. its the crime scene investigator (csi) that does that
