On Friday August 25th, I conducted an experiment. I spent the day answering political questions using nothing by ultra-conservative fundamentalist rhetoric, deliberately written so that there was no internal logic or intellectual consistency to what I was saying. The experiment was to prove a point, and to pave the way for this question --

Which contributes more to a thorough debate: short sound-bites that state one viewpoint without any tolerance for differences, or long-winded sermons about tolerance and mutual respect, exploring the issue from multiple perspectives?

Do both contribute, by showing the ends of the spectrum as well as the middle? Is there any value in tolerance on issues that are so emotionally charged? Is there value to the rhetoric and the dogma that holds one end of the spectrum as being the One True Way™ ?

Is there a place for both, and is there a need for both…? Thoughts and comments appreciated.

It really makes me angry that some people can just " live off the system" so to speak when they are capable of working. I personaly think the system should be changed.people who want to work and cant work cause they cant afford their meds with out medical assistance but if they are to work their medical gets cut. There are so many assistance programs for people out there but i believe the wrong people are allowed to have them and those of us that should be allowed to have them cant get them cause we work for a living wich leaves us with out ragous medical bills or medications that we can never pay off or pay for with the pay we get. Also i believe both part time and full time people should be allowed benefits simply cause we work for a living. what are your thoughts???

The article further claims: Bush, the guy an average Joe would have a beer with, is the perfect distraction for the White House press corpse, while Cheney's finger prints are all over policy and operation. Cheney, big on secrecy, claims that the names of his aides is classified information, has operatives in all major departments and actively manages Senate Republican caucus and interagency sessions. Cheney is fully in charge but his low approval rating of 20, is so low that with an alert press corpse onto his tricks, couldn't get away with subverting the government.

The Globe article claims with authority that Rove, Rumsfeld and Cheney are in charge. What do you think?

This friend of mine got a letter from a lawyer representing a client that was asking him to settle an old loan. My friend has got all the documentation on full settlement. The lawyer even arrange a court hearing. I told my friend to ignore every thing and plain ignorance. Let the court send out an arrest warrant and then take up from there. Put you to jail for two days and the day you are out start a sue back. Is this a good advice?

By Thomas R. Stauffer

I was told by an Arab that the sultanate of Kuwait was created by UK out of Iraq when the Brits were ending their colonisation. This, according to the Arab was to create divisiveness in the region. And hence explained the itch that induced Saddam to regain Kuwait.
