We got a rabbit for my daugther this year, and have kept it in a hutch outside for the summer - wondering if its ok to keep rabbits outside in the winter or not - we are near EDMONTON ALBERTA (CANADA) so it can be cold for Dec & Jan.. we have a unheated barn we could move the hutch to or is this still too cold ( I know it would need water of course) thanks

My ferret is presently undergoing chemo using Doxorubicin for a huge lymphoma tumor (diagnosed thru a biopsy) on his neck. We are injecting it directly into the neck tumor with fantastic results. It has been 2 weeks and the tumor has significantly gotten smaller. He goes in next week for a 2nd session. His only side effect that I can see is he is very tired. I do give him Pet Tinic which seems to help. I will ask the vet next week if there is anything else I can give him for his possible anemia. Any info on anyone who has used this on their ferret would be greatly appreciated. I have had several ferrets with Lymphoma but none who have has such a huge tumor on the side of their neck. He is only going on 4 years old and such a sweetheart thru all this. Thank you.

I'm taking care of my girlfriends rabbit, while she's at the beach, and I was wondering, why does the little fellow insist on pooping in his food dish. It's one that hangs from the side of the cage, and he sits in it and poops...i don't get it, how do i get him to stop?

i just bought two ferrets a few days ago, a girl and a boy. the girl is quite laid back and sweet. but the issue im having is with the boy. i know ferrets nip alot, naturally. but my male ferret keeps biting my fore arms. at first he used to just lick me.but now, if my arms are by him, he grips onto my arm violently, and trys to shake it. like how a dog would. he started doing this randomly yesterday. this is obviously not normal biting, and he keeps hurting me. i've tried to grab his scruff and such. but idk if its working. also i thought about him being abused and trying to defend himself or something, but he was from petco. idk what could have happened to him there. i am just worried about him because i dont want to have to get rid of him. is he just aggressive? and or what should i do?

...or is dangerous for them?

If anyone can help, I need a list of commercially available cat-litters for the bunnies. I'm not looking for "Papurr" or "Purrrfect" or "Yesterday's News." They're not easy to find, damnit! >:-o Lol.

I want to buy some litter that I can find easily, like at a supermarket or a low-end department store like Target or K-Mart or even Costco! Good quality pet stores are hard to locate in my area and the stuff they sell is really WAY too expensive... totally not worth it, if you ask me.

*** What can I use for the rabbits that's easy to find but won't kill them (with liver damage, etc...)??? ***

And to thwart some of the smart-@sses out there, YES!- rabbits can be litter-box trained and you CAN use cat litter for them!

BTW, I'm not even going to CONSIDER using newspaper or hay as a litter. It stinks like HELL and it creates a huge mess. No way...

My horses occasionally manage to eat the leaves of Black Locust trees, which are poisonous. I am wondering if the effect dissipates with time, or if it's cumulative?
