Believe it or not, pepto bismol. I use to work in a department store that sold hamsters. Every now and then a new batch would come in with wet tail. I called the vet, they wanted about $75 for lab tests for a $3 hamster that wasn't mine. Of course the store would pony up, so I dropped Pepto Bismol tabs in the cage, along with some dried oats and crackers. Like when people have diarrhea. The hamster chewed the Pepto Tabs like they knew it would make them better. And when they got well they stopped eating them. And out of twenty hamsters, only one died, when before all the hamsters died. Wouldn't hurt to put Pedalite in a spare water bottle for them.

Yogurt drops help- the special hamster kind. Look in pet stores and in pet sections of department stores to find them. My friend's hamster had wet tail and yogurt drops were what everyone said to use, and they worked! I hope this helped!

There are medications available at most pet stores that will clear up wet tail. Simply pick some up and follow the directions.

There is a remedy called Dri-Tail. That will work -- also feed them raw potato and tetracycline in the water.

Yogurt is very bad for all rodents. Get some dry-tale from a pet store.

Why do people get animals they can't take care of properly!?! If you can't afford to take an animal to a vet, DO NOT GET PETS. Please take your hamster to a vet right away, and if you really can't afford it, please give it to the SPCA so they can find somebody who will!
