the rabbit was given to me by a friend who couldnt take care of the rabbit anymore because the place that he moved to didnt accept animals. Me and my family feel that it is too much responsibility to take care of the rabbit and our house doesnt have enough space for the rabbit to walk around more freely. the biggest place that it can walk around is in my basement, but i would have to rabbit proof everything, and supervise the rabbit and i dont have the time. I also dont want to run the risk of the rabbit chewing on cables. i feel that it should belong to someone with a rabbit sanctuary or someone who is more determined to take good care of it. Me and my family arent really pet people since we never thought about getting a pet and were never prepared to care for a rabbit.

The guy who helps us with the horses ( a true horse whisperer) told me that a horse is ready for the bit and hackamore when it licks its lips, which is a sign of submission. Can this be true of cats, too. My queen licks her lips every time she catches my eyes. Can this be the same in animals so different?

I used to have some, but unfortunately, most would die shortly after I acquired them. There was one, however, whom I named Lola, that I had for nearly 10 years! She got bigger and bigger, until I was struggling to find seashells that were big enough for her. I used to let her out of her aquarium to wander around the living room. She'd spend hours scuttling around under the furniture. I tried giving her companions, but she was so much bigger than they were that she bullied them and killed them unless I kept them separated. Poor Theodore lost two limbs, which Lola ate! She loved bananas and lettuce. I am not sure why she died several years ago, but one day I found her listless and pale. Within hours, she was dead. :o( I miss that goofy hermit crab.

So, tell me your hermit crab stories. :o)

Our cats died a month ago. We, my siblings and I, really want another pet. She gave us a long list of things she doesn't want in a pet and that leaves fish and guinea pigs. We HATE fish but we love guinea pigs. She doesn't want them because she doesn't think we'll clean out their cage. She HATES smells.
