The fact that buls do not like red is a myth. Bullfighters use the flapping of the cape to irrate the bull. They also choose bulls that are harsh tempered and would likely go after a person.

Bulls are intact or uncastrated males over 2 years of age. They are basically the "father."
Steers are castrated males. Usually under 2 years of age and mostly used for the production of beef.
Heifers are females under the age of 2 years and have not yet given birth, though they may be pregnant. If they are not used a replacements for cows/ "mothers" they are also used for the production of beef.
Cows are mature females that have given birth. They are the "mothers" and in the case of dairy cattle they are the producers of milk.

Bulls could care less about color, its the fact that the matador fights bulls that have been bred to charge and they antagonize the poor son... Now dairy bulls, there are some mean bulls that will tear you a new one. Charlais cows are pretty dangerous too after calving. Beefmaster is the sweetest breed... the bulls are not very aggressive and the cows are very easily trained on a lead.
Bull = bovine having testicles
Steer= without testicles and they tend to be for steak later
Gomer= messed up, and still has one testicle
Heifer= female under two years of age or hasn't had a calf yet
Cow= a mommy or female over 2 years old.

Bulls not liking red is a myth. When a matador waves a red cape, it's the motion the bull is responding to, not the color.

Cows, bulls, heifers, calves and steers are all members of the same species. Calves are the young, of either sex. Heifers are sexually mature females who have not yet given birth. Cows are sexually mature females who have given birth (and therefore typically give milk). Bulls are sexually mature males. Steers are castrated males.

Cows are heifers that had babies.

Bulls are uncasterated male cattle.

Steer are casteradted male cattle.

Calfs are baby cows or bulls.

Bulls are actually colorblind and would percieve red as gray. In bullfights they are irritated by the flapping of the cape not the color.
