I was suppose to be buying a horse trailer on the internet from a lady named Allison Varady. I have never met her before but we talked via e-mail and worked out a payment plan. I got her to sign a contract and fax it to me. She was suppose to be working out the shipping arrangements, but it's been two weeks now. I was suppose to have the trailer last Friday and it never came and now she wont return my e-mails. How do I know if I have been scammed? What can I do about it? Please help...

Ok...His name at the moment is Chester, he is chestnut, 17hh and a gelding...der lol He is very fat and big build. He acts like a big tough guy but the smallest thing will scare him (like my helmet laying on the ground :P lol ). He is great to ride when he is not spooking, his a great jumper but wont let any other horse beat him when out on a trail trying to trot. He will either buck and bolt, rear and bolt or all three and is an ANGEL by him self on a trail....any ideas for names for my big baby?

Do people like this really exist and own horses and how have they not been killed?

I honestly try to not thumbs down, but sometimes.......

I read some answers today from people that are so uninformed and off the mark and wonder, does the poster even realize how wrong it is?

I try to not hate email, but have resorted once to some kiddo that posted she was a vet and gave the most horrible advice to people that would actually harm an animal. I haven't seen this gem since .

You guys probably have more tolerance than I do for dumb people, I get paid to work with dumb people at my job allll day long and then after hours when I get my 2 am jerry springer delights on call. Had a couple of those already tonight, so I'm in the ripe mood lol, but wanted to see others opinions and reactions on the boards that DO know what they are talking about when THEY post :)

Hi i posted a question but was rushed so trying again. I have not ridden for 20 yrs purchased a 6 yo Gelding. Have had him for 3 months. Have had a lessons. I want this horse for pleasure and need some basic advice. He basically could not follow a straight line when i purchased him, so we have been working in a round arena. She has taught me, to make him walk where you want and keep him on the proposed track. Keep your calf muscles, both legs, close to his body at all times, if you want him to veer to the right slightly, tighten the right rein and put more pressure on him with your left calf muscle, this seems to be working ok. Am I doing the right thing, am only at the stage of bringing him back to a slow comfortable trot and keeping him at that for a period of time in an arena so where do i go to from here. I guess we are both back to basics so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

we recently purchased a few brood mares and found that the line of breeding is no longer of value- the trends have changed. the breeding was very valuable in the 80's and 90's. the breeding is the Doc Bar line. the papers and lines are awesome and can be traced back to the foundation horses of the Poko Bueno, O'Leno and Doc Bar lines. people are spening lots of money on the newer breeding but not the old foundation lines. does anyone know why? any comments?

The horse I ride (and will be buying) has a weird personality problem...(well at least I think it's weird)
Whenever I'm riding with one or more people in the arena or out on a trail, she gives me an attitude problem; is slow about getting into a trot, flicks her tail when she starts to trot, moves off the wall when she trots, and won't respond to any hand or leg commands.

Yet when I am riding by myself in the arena (not on a trial lol...not that brave lol) she listens to me great. She never gives me an attitude (well an occasional tail flick when she starts to trot, but that's it).

Is that something normal for her? None of the other horses have that trouble? Could it be because of the other horses in the arena? Even if there's just a person in the arena, she gives me a hard time...but if I am completely alone, then she's perfect.

I can't figure out this issue with my mule and am on my way back to the vet aaaaagain on wednesday for another chiro treatment, but I am requesting more evaluations. This will be his 2nd opinion. If nothing improves, we are on our way to Colorado State University.

They thought he had a pinched subscapular nerve from a one time poor fitting collar. The vet recommended accupunture, I didn't feel the accupuncturist here knew what she was doing and hauled him to a chiro/accup about 4 hrs away. He did a chiro treatment on him, mule went on to blow away a 4H show and took all grands and 1 reserve in his classes. Then farrier came out, he went lame again. Its actually more a 'gait disturbance'. He goes from his swooping trot to a pony trot, doesn't really want to move out etc.

So vet fixed him again and farrier came out last week, boom lame again. Its a front end issue. He is lame when he pivots. Unless you know his movements, thats when you really see it.

He just doesn't stand when I take him up to the mounting block, or if he does, he moves away as soon as I have my foot in the stirrup. I can make him stand as soon as I'm fully on, but obviously this is ANNOYING! Please help!

Ive been searching for my horses brand for 3 years. He came from Texas and I live in Cali. I have never seen this type of brand before it is very unique. There were no papers when I bought him so I have no help. If you know any way to help please let me know. I've gone to the department of agriculture and board of brands and they've been no help either.

Just curious - is it Monty Roberts, Clinton Anderson, Xenophan, Col. Podhasky, George Morris, Beezie Madden, Lynn McKenzie etc., etc., etc.??

Who is your favorite "Horse Whisperer", trainer or clinician? And/Or who is your favorite rider for your equestrian sport? Why is that person your favorite - because of his/her philosphy, easy to understand, etc.? Have you met them or seen them ride in person?

My favorite trainer is George Morris because he is so very knowledgeable about horses - hunter/jumpers in particular and what makes them work better for you. Yes, I've been very fortunate to have a training session with him.

My favorite rider is Rodrigo Pessoa for Brazil and his horse Balubet d'Rouet - absolutely awesome what the pair of them can do on a jump course!

Looking forward to seeing your answer! Thanks!!

I love studying the Medieval ages and I especially love the rare moment when the author of the book says something like, "The knights couldn't have done anything as well as they did without their horses." I was just wondering, were the Arabians, American Saddlebreds, Morgans and Quarter Horses around in the mid 14 or 1500's? Just curious.
