Ok...His name at the moment is Chester, he is chestnut, 17hh and a gelding...der lol He is very fat and big build. He acts like a big tough guy but the smallest thing will scare him (like my helmet laying on the ground :P lol ). He is great to ride when he is not spooking, his a great jumper but wont let any other horse beat him when out on a trail trying to trot. He will either buck and bolt, rear and bolt or all three and is an ANGEL by him self on a trail....any ideas for names for my big baby?

And yes i know about the bad luck thing but i think you make your own luck, I changed all my old horses names and never had bad luck because of it....and that you for all your names they are great

I like Chester, not many horses I know named Chester!

No, not Seven!! That was going to be George Costanza's kid's name. It's his name!! Sorry, I'm a huge Sienfeld fan and well, I had to do that.

I have a good show name for him, Chesterfield, Winchester, or even better Winchestertonfieldville (again, another reference to a comedy) for some reason I feel very humorous today.

For a show jumper name:

Flying First Class, Custom Made, Simple Perfection, Poetry in Motion.

My daughter named her new horse (show name of course) Instant Replay

Have fun!!

Here are some names off the top of my head:
NikNac ( or just NickNack)
Mango (depends on what color chestnut he is)
_____ (your name here)'s Little Heartbreak
Flying without wings (jumper name)
Ahh thats all I can think of. I know the heart break one is girly, but I think it's cute. Personally, I like NicNak.
If you email me (bubblie93@yahoo.com) then I can probably give you some more names, but I'm in class right now and I am trying to not get caught doing something I shouldn't. =P

Hey... I agree with someone who said.. why confuse him?
Rhyme something with Chester if you must change!.
or call him Mister Chester since he is an angel and a gentleman on a trail!!.

Otherwise.. Jester.; Fester; Golden Thresher, etc.

Why change his name and confuse him if he's already responding to it?

Think I would spend more time training him and yourself than worrying over a name. From what you describe "when he is not spooking" he could use lots of work.

sounds like a horse that I know teehee...but he's a paint and definetly not 17hh teehee.

How about:
Courage
Levi (I just like that name for a horse teehee)
Devon
Jack
Spice

That's all I can think of for now. I'm not too good on thinking up names
