A 77-year-old Italian man has been arrested after shooting dead his wife as she lay in hospital.
Police in the Tuscan city of Prato said the man shot his 82-year-old wife, who had Alzheimer's disease, three times in full view of medical staff.

The man told police he did it because he could not stand to see her suffer.

His wife had been diagnosed eight years ago with the degenerative and irreversible brain disorder, which causes dementia and eventually death.

The suspects all have prior arrests, according to Lee County Sheriff's Office records.
Wardlow was arrested twice for selling marijuana and once for grand theft of a vehicle, and Hunte was arrested previously this year on drug and trespassing charges.
Mitchell has been arrested twice, most recently in October on charges of driving with a suspended license and violation of probation. Rivera was arrested in October for trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, and he previously was behind bars for altering the identification number on a firearm.
On Rivera's MySpace page, he posed for pictures lying in bed with $100 bills strewn atop him and fanning a wad of cash in front of his face. The page is wallpapered with images of money, the text atop it green. The 17-year-old sandwiches his alias, Mr. Florida, between dollar signs and lists counting money among his interests.

Grandma Wardlow says: He is such a good boy.

It seems to me that the scandal had nothing to do with Islam and more to do with politics. Similar to the navy hostages that Iran took was it a set up to make the uk look weak. I gaurentee that Gillian will be released early to the Muslim peers and she'll say she was "treated well". Its win/win for the Sudanese they look strong for there own people, thumbing their noses at a former coloniel power, tolerant that there sentance wasn't to harsh and they dont loose face becuase they handed her back to Muslims. Meanwhile we look like mugs.
What do you think ?

Do barbaric people deserve their barbaric laws?

Ibrahim bin Salih al-Khudairi, a judge on the Riyadh Appeals Court, said in an interview in the newspaper Okaz on Nov. 27 that if he had been a judge in the Qatif court, he would have sentenced the woman, her male companion and the seven rapists to death, and that they were lucky not to get the death penalty.

Al-Tariki pointed to the discrepancies that result. In recent cases, he wrote, three teenagers were beheaded for attacking a gas station and injuring a worker while a government employee who received thousands of riyals as a bribe was only sentenced eight months in prison. A group of men received 12 years in prison for sexual harassment, compared to the shorter sentences for the Girl of Qatif rapists.

This teacher has been accused of insulting Islam by letting her pupils name a Teddy Bear Mohammed, and is in jail for her pains. And we see these Muslim extremists ranting and waving knives and machetes with the words that she should be executed for her so called insults. This has made me so angry and i wonder why it is the case that our government has sent two Muslim peers to resolve the matter. It's made us look third rate going cap in hand this way, and that the Sudanese government are making us a laughing stock. Surely we should have sent the most senior British politician who deals in Foreign affairs and that is David Milliband and a full delegation, banging on their door telling them release her now, laying down the law.
Why are we putting up with these tin pot regimes, giving them aid, and helping them out when all they seem to do is cocking a snook at us, i can see this situation happening again and again. Pull all British Nationals out and no more aid, end of story.
