This teacher has been accused of insulting Islam by letting her pupils name a Teddy Bear Mohammed, and is in jail for her pains. And we see these Muslim extremists ranting and waving knives and machetes with the words that she should be executed for her so called insults. This has made me so angry and i wonder why it is the case that our government has sent two Muslim peers to resolve the matter. It's made us look third rate going cap in hand this way, and that the Sudanese government are making us a laughing stock. Surely we should have sent the most senior British politician who deals in Foreign affairs and that is David Milliband and a full delegation, banging on their door telling them release her now, laying down the law.
Why are we putting up with these tin pot regimes, giving them aid, and helping them out when all they seem to do is cocking a snook at us, i can see this situation happening again and again. Pull all British Nationals out and no more aid, end of story.

For any one who says well she did the crime, and should pay, what crime, its completely idiotic, and we are being made fools of. As you can see the amount of money we do pay in aid is huge and how much of that goes to the people who need it, instead of the pockets of the despots running these countries. Better off putting it into the ailing NHS and looking after our sick and elderly.
Gillian herself has been more than magnanimous in saying she hoped that all Muslims aren't judged by these fanatics, sadly this sort of thing turns people away, from those people who want to drag their countries back or indeed stay in the dark ages.

I agree we should cut all aid to these people until they show they can be civilised....i am disgusted to think we give money to these folks who are so narrow minded......
In Australia we have multiculturalism rammed down our throats and are told to be tolerant. Yet these people behave like this and say its there culture. No wonder people are intolerant. We are taking many sudanese refugees into our country, maybe we could send them all back .
Next they will try to stop us celebrating christmas and singing carols in our own country, cause they might get offended !!!

Unfortunately, when in Rome, you must do as the Romans do.
And one thing those "Romans" DON'T do, is give the name Mohammed to an inanimate object. She should have made a more thought-out decision.
Do I agree with the scenario? Absolutely not. The Teddy Bear obviously was special to the class, and Mohammed is a sacred name, so the class, wanting to make the bear even MORE special, decided on the most special name in their region. (An ability to free-think class, I might add)
Most of them take their religious idiosynchroses WAYYY overboard, and any SANE human being could tell that the teacher meant absolutely NO harm. Buncha frickin' fanatics.

Sorry but I think the Sudanese are being pathetic, the teacher did'nt name the bear, the children did. Ibelieve that this is just another way for Islamics to show their hatred of westerners. The poor Woman went to teach the children and I dont suppose she had even thought of getting involved in their politics. Hope they see sense and send her home soon.

My blood pressure rises every time I think about this incident which will do great harm to Muslim credibility for peace and tolerance worldwide. The little children chose the name Muhammad and Gillian Gibbons respected their choice without giving it a second thought. If that deserves a prison sentence and a choreographed demonstration by a Sudanese mob calling for her to be shot, then we should stop all foreign aid to that ungrateful country forthwith.

totally agree with rednine, as long as they follow Mohammed they Will never accept western ideals. Hitler was a pussycat compared to Mohammed.
My conclusion on this matter is leave them alone, let them kill each other and any body wanting to follow Mohammad's teaching should not be allowed to live any where but Sudan

Instead of sending in a diplomat we should send in the SAS and Delta Force. The UK and the USA should end all financial support. Then we should bomb them to dust. I would say bomb them back to the Stone Age but they are obviously already in the Stone age.

We should have nothing to do with muslims. You can't do anything for them. They'll kill you just as soon as look at you. I say stay away from them and block them from everything and everywhere. As hard as it is to say say children too, because they grow up to be killers. Their parents teach them to bite the hand that feeds them. So they'll bomb the people that gives them aid. I wouldn't have anything to do with them after what they have done to her. It's made me turn completely against them.

It also implied that Muslim countries cannot adopt democracy. If they got democracy, they would execute that teacher. Fortunately, they are not. Hence, U.S. should withdraw from Iraq and let Koran rule over muslim countries. Isolation is the best way to handle muslim.
