When polls are taken, why do they say "CNN and USA Today poll" or "CBS and New York Times poll"?

Why not just "CNN poll" or "USA Today poll"?

My city at the end of the year will lose its afternoon paper due to declining circulation and the end of a joint printing agreement between the two papers. With the internet and the advent of 24 news on cable is that of particular concern for any of you who have seen similiar problems or do you see the papers as part of our past.

The media is not biased to the left. Its only been that way because of the current administration. The media's job is to report things, good and bad. The media does it. FOX News is horribly biased because they only show it from the right side and call the media in general biased while lying about themselves with the slogan "fair and balanced".

CNN has conservative talk show hosts who have the conservative point of view. FOX News only has that actor Colmes and is the only reputed "liberal" on that entire network.

Oh, and yes, I do watch FOX News, CNN, ABC News and the BBC.

Back in the Clinton administration, the media had a bit of a slant to the right. Even I could tell this and I WASN'T EVEN IN HIGH SCHOOL.

So all of you whining conservatives who call liberals "bleeding hearts", check yourself before you open your mouths...you are much more hypocritical than you think.

It was called the Salmon brothers building or world trade center building #7
The twin towers were building #1 and #2 and yes there were other buildings 3,4,5,6, no they did not all collapse. just burned under tons of ruble. They did not all fall down at free fall speed like WTC #7
Please look into this for Christ sakes, How can you call people wack jobs when you have no clue what they are talking about?
Stop watching so much TV, it rots your brain.

The twin towers and than there is the mysterious collapse of world trade center building #7
A 47 story skyscraper that fell into it's own foot print in a whopping 6.5 seconds. That's right free fall speed.

I am not going to keep posting the links for you. Please just look into it. The truth is self evident.

and dont give me this bs about innocent until proven guilty,u know why, because when ur rich and famous the judicial system in this country fails to do justice every time.absolutly every piece of evidence u can dream of was against oj simpson but he got off,why because he was rich and famous.does that mean we woud be ok if he started to do commercials and tv apperances,of course not, because any 1 with an iq over 10 knows he did it.because the justice system fails when it comes to celebrity, and u have this much evidence against u,someone needs to hold them responsible because we know the jury wont.if he is found not gulity, having him play is the same as saying ur allright with oj doing orange juice commercials, after all the jury said not guilty right.but no company will touch him, why?and dont bring up the duke case, because there was NO evidence in that hoax, not the same here ,of course black people will say this is about race, will they celebrate like they did when oj got off on murder?

We hear that according to polls - - - . How does anyone know the information being given is true? Can't anyone go on TV, the radio, news, or whatever and say according to a poll - - - -? Even if the poll is taken how does anyone know the figures are not manipulated before they are published? We have learned we can not trust the highest office in the country, why should we believe polls taken by someone we don't know and was probably tallied by finger counters.

Who believes Vick will beat this case?
I dont want to know if you think he's guilty or not but What DO you really honestly think the Outcome is going to be?

I live in Marietta Ga about 8 mins for Atlanta and I was there to see Vick Arrive and yES it is going to be turned into a racial Issue. So My OPinion is he will beat this case due to racial preference or if he is charged it wil surely be probation.nothing major..
If you read the news It really was white people on one side hating him and Blacks on the other yelling give him a chance.

I just figured I would ask this question because when OJ Simpson was being accused there was no "Yahoo answers"

And if so do you find that most of them have exactly the same opinion about just about everything. It's as if different voices (Limbaugh, Hannity, Boortz etc) are reading the same script. I'm not saying that they are wrong, but rather that they, as does music radio, just sound the same and preach the same messages.

Everyday we hear the results of polls conducted relating to one thing or another. Most of these seem to be in regard to some political issue. We hear politicians say "the American people want - - "; is this based on the polls? Who conducts these polls? How are they conducted? Who decides who will be included in the poll? It seems to me that in most cases the politicians are wrong so are the polls anywhere near accurate? Is this concept like the old percentage drill – “82% of the people - - “ nobody challenges the figures so you can say about anything! I am almost 70 years old - no one has ever asked my opinion and I have never met anyone who has participated in one other than evening new one liners.

If your from the Pittsburgh, PA area, you may be able to help me. I listened to his show faithfully in the late '70's, early '80's and can hear that song now. Perry played this song before each news segment except at the end of his show when he played The Entertainer. The song was slow and featured mainly a keyboard and bass. I would like to know the artist and song title. If you can tell me what recording it's from, even better.
