I work for a talk radio station. We have conservative talkers, some liberal talkers and a few in-between. I think there is plenty of room for a lot of views, though I myself lean toward conservatism. I think with the bankruptcy of Air America the market has spoken. It says Air America didn't have what it takes to survive in this business.
What do you think?

Someone in my immediate family just endured the indignancy and horror of having an awake colonoscopy at ***. While the procedure was begun without her consent, she cried out in pain repeatedly and begged for the physician to stop, which he did not. A nurse and patient care tech were involved with holding different parts of her body down to prevent her from flailing, etc. Upon describing the experience, after which the doctor left her without treating her pain with so much as a tylenol, she explained the incident as feeling like she'd been 'raped' - and we would like to take legal action. Immediately. The more high profile and scarier the lawyer, the better. Thanks.

Wow, violent story, but probably exaggerated.

I'm in Australia and my favourite written press is 'The Australian'. It's national, reasonably impartial and relatively humanitarian.

Some people get so angry about her politcal views. Why? She is so "off the planet" it is pitiful. Personally, I think something has happened in her personal life that has made her bitter and twisted. We should encourage her to seek professional help instead of demonise her.

(UNESCO) Islamic States Press for Limits on Free __Expression http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewForeignBureaus.asp?Page=/ForeignBureaus/archive/200604/INT20060421a.html

In a drive pursued largely away from the headlines, the Organization for the Islamic Conference (OIC) is promoting the issue at the United Nations and European Union, and having some success.

" the note said, adding that respect for religious symbols and beliefs and freedom of _expression were "indissociable."
The UNESCO move is just the latest illustration of the way the OIC and its 56 member states are using the cartoon episode to apply pressure on the West to comply with Islamic norms.

- but made no balancing reference to freedom of speech.

Diana West just wrote another very intersting editorial with a powerful lucid understanding of the issues we are facine.

Some media want to defend certain preachers under the guise of Free speech. Yet then again stay silent when one is actually truly expressing the voice of Free Speach (Robert Redeker)

Ramadan is preaching and encouraging double standard, supports indirect censorship and laws that discriminate rather than support equalities...

Redeker demands Freedom of Speach, of thought and religion, equlity and human rights....

What is the problem with the press especially the one who is suppose to defend progressive values and freedom ??

The reprehensible Mark Foley has generated 150 stories by ABC, CBS & NBC in the last 12 days. His actions deserve scrutiny and the disdain of the nation but seeing as it is one month before an election this seems a bit excessive. Compare the Foley coverage to that of Mel Reynolds, the democratic congressman from Illinois who was convicted of having sex with a 16 yr old volunteer campaign staffer. Reynolds' actions were just as deplorable, probably more so when you look at all of his transgressions, yet the same 3 networks only ran 19 stories regarding Reynolds in the entire year from when the story broke until he was convicted. ABC in particular only mentioned it once.

Is this enough evidence to convince the average American that our leading news institutions have an agenda ?
