Sometimes I ask a question, and I get an answer with one of several of the following sentences in it:

There are starving children in Africa
How can we attain world peace?
How can we end racism?
Feed the starving children of the world?
Stop genocides all over the world?
Teach illiterate adults to read?
Cure Cancer?
Stop date rape?
Stop murder?

They complain that I'm asking a question when all that is going on. Yes I know all of that is happening in this twisted world and I try to do my best to help support efforts to prevent those things (donating to charities, etc), but what do people expect? It's not that easy to leave my entire family, pack my bags, and go to Africa to help starving children. I really wish I could, but it's just not that easy. So why do people have to go on and on about those things, and say other people don't do enough about it? Shouldn't that be up to the government? Wouldn't billions towards starving be better than billions towards a war?

Unless something intrevenes, we may be seeing an all out battle between Fatah and Hammas supporters . That can not be good for long term regional prospects.

Technology has proven that we can stop using oil today, but Gov't & big biz are standing in the way. Killing us and lining their pockets. Why can't we just go around big biz?

Also should the UK economy be sacrificed for global warming even though reducing emissions here is not really going to make a big difference.

There is much speculation on when the 'great awakening' which is described as an awareness of the human race, a convergence if you will, of wisdom, psychology, and science, that will allow us to view things in a more enhanced perspective. There is much assumption that such an 'evolvement' of the way of thinking will only happen in certain developed countries, such as the USA, and not until another 200 years passes by.

Your thoughts? Recent progress in technology, nanotechnology, and theories about gravity may lead us yet to find the answer to the 'unified theory'---and enhance our understanding about existance, the universe and religion--as well as about the realities of life and the practicalities (realizations like democracy is not the perfect system, that meritocratic goverments whith checks and balances is enough....but mainly...that the dessimination of information DUE TO THE INTERNET, makes it practically impossible to monopolize information)...thus, increases awareness

Bush declared victory in Iraq couple years ago.
They now have a peacful democracy; Saddam should die soon and Bush has accomplished what he wanted.

Iran is snubbing their nose at the US with potential WDM's just like Saddam did - maybe we should bring democracy and peace there too. Our military is quite capable of winning as easily there as they did in Iran. What do you think?

Why should any man or woman who commits a murder be given any sort of leniency when it comes to the death penalty? Their victims suffered; why shouldn't THEY? This question is a result of the recent execution of the man in Florida where it took 34 minutes for him to die. Who cares if he suffered? What about his victim that he killed 30 years ago? I think this criminal's execution was justified, even if it had taken him hours to die.

The peaceful muslims? Islamist Hamas fraction is accusing Abbas of trying to start a civil war? all he did was shoot into a crowd of people at a rally. Now why would they take offense at that. less than a dozen people died? Addas once dominant Fatah. Is another one of those peace loving palestinians.
Are you as shocked as I am? Imagine problems between Palestinians? Called it bitter rivalry? Imagine my suprise?
Never knew those muslims had any bitter rivalry?

This is not simply going to stop, you know. For the record, the invasion of Iraq was the dumbest thing the US has done in 50+ years....

After an afternoon listening to Radio 2...

...a listener, whose husband was on the crime-team, had said that the media were following him during his duties....

and making active attemps to 'listen into his mobile phone calls', whilst helicopters (media only) continued to fly overhead as they followed the police officers at work.

Now I'm no Serlock Holmes, but I agree with the caller, that this is only going to HAMPER THE INVESTIGATION, as its kinda hard to be discrete with the press chasing you.

Shouldn't the media back the fuckk off while the cops do their job?!?

Anyone think the media has gone too far again [think Diana]?

Stating the obvious, geneva conventions, patriotism, marriage. But here is one I just dont get-

"Shareef planned to set off four hand grenades in garbage cans at the CherryVale shopping mall........................He was charged with one count of attempting to damage or destroy a building by fire or explosion and one count of attempting to use a WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION." Now im not saying this was a good guy, but weapons of mass destruction? Grenades?

Tell me again, were any WMD's found in IRAQ? No. But there were plenty of hand grenades im sure. What gives? Is it okay to constantly redefine things at our discretion because its conveniently in our agenda?
