Both Philippines and Malaysia are fighting over the claim to Sabah. Long ago, Sabah was given by a Malaysian to the Philippines as a gift. Now, both countries are claiming it to be theirs. Who has the right to own it?

I can't see Malaysia giving up Sabah. From what I've read there are conflicting legal claims over the territory. I believe that Sabah at one point had a chance to vote on staying with the Malaysian federation or going back to the Philippines. The vast majority voted to stay with Malaysia.

Sulu and its sultans are heritage. they're reported now in problem-free words as a nostalgic secret of the East.....on the end of WW ll, Sabah [ then North Borneo,] grew to change right into a British protectorate and colony. The Phillippines do no longer have any rights to Sabah - that, if any, belongs to the Sultans of Sulu. [ which, as reported above, is "heritage". [positioned yet differently, purely before the end of WW2, "North Borneo" replaced into actially eastern. North Borneo surrendered some 3 years previously. All agreements before that hence ceased to be binding. at the same time as the British forces{Australan} liberated North Borneo, new histoy began.....ensuing in the Independence of Sabah on thirty first August, 1963 and then be an element of Malaysia on sixteenth September, 1963. All claims to Sabah are, hence, invalid.]

The Malaysians were rightfully given Sabah.

What is really behind all the current turmoil is that Malaysia has been secretely deporting all the radical Muslim Fillipinos from Sabah, and killing those that resist. They are wiping out a terrorist network from their island.

Because of that, radical muslims in the Philipines that are in power are now moving the hands of the Philipines government to try to wrest control of Sabah back to them.

Are there any people living there, and if so what do THEY want?

If it was a ligitimate gift by someone who had the power to do so, I would say no.

Perhaps, it should go to the International Court in The Hauge.
