There is much speculation on when the 'great awakening' which is described as an awareness of the human race, a convergence if you will, of wisdom, psychology, and science, that will allow us to view things in a more enhanced perspective. There is much assumption that such an 'evolvement' of the way of thinking will only happen in certain developed countries, such as the USA, and not until another 200 years passes by.

Your thoughts? Recent progress in technology, nanotechnology, and theories about gravity may lead us yet to find the answer to the 'unified theory'---and enhance our understanding about existance, the universe and religion--as well as about the realities of life and the practicalities (realizations like democracy is not the perfect system, that meritocratic goverments whith checks and balances is enough....but mainly...that the dessimination of information DUE TO THE INTERNET, makes it practically impossible to monopolize information)...thus, increases awareness

and this extra awareness of how the world, in fact works...makes it less probable of elites taking over...thus a balance, or fair 'stability' ensuing...

These are some of the prospects of the great awakening. When do you think our perspective will be so enhanced, and thus, allow us to become more evolved politically, scientifically, and psychologically?

I love how many of the same people who Praise so called "Higher Thinking" are frequently the same people who deny the fact that right now we have one little Nation in the Middle East, a beacon of Democracy. A Nation that has contributed so much to Science, Literature, Philosophy, The Arts.
A Nation surrounded by Inbred Demons still living in the Dark Ages.
And these "High Thinkers" choose to support the Inbred Demons instead of standing with the one Nation in that region that epitomizes all their high utopian ideas.

If an awakening doesn't happen now within the next few years then we can kiss our human race and civilization goodbye. Very few people are doing something about global warming, massive deforestation and trying to stop wars from happening. But it isn't working because we humans who can talk, use our brain and invent things are not working together to help make our world a better place or even for our future generations. A awakening will not happen unless we humans realize that we are driving ourselves, all other livng things and the world to extinction which are all causing Mother Nature to be very angry and hit us back.

I am lost. so are you. this is not a question it is an essay on your deep knowledge about "awakening" and for sure this is not an early wake up call. Philosophy apart, let's be frank-- awakening means different things to different people and all depends in what context you are asking the question and obviously you are not seeking a response. you are satisfied with yours. conclusion-- in the religious sense -- we are all the time "awakening" to new feelings, new facts of life, new thinking...from time immemorial ...until today and tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. as long as there is tomorrow -- awakening is a hope we look for but will never reach -- not in man's life-time. hope it helps.

Ummmmm....
Which awakening are you talking about now?

Every religion on this planet keeps coming up with "Doomsday Prophecies" and lemmings run around with silly hats and posters screaming the 'sky is falling'.

Although your viewpoint is quite the opposite (the dawning realization of Mankind) it is just as ridiculous.

It presupposes that a force outside of the individual or collective consciousness of Mankind will essentially 'flip the light-switch' and make us brighter, more caring, less ambiguous people.

I do believe that what you are saying here is essentially true. However I do not believe this spiritual awakening will take place until our extraterrestrial makers, and mentors (Jesus, and the angels, if you will), return to earth to defeat the present wicked rulers of earth, who are intent upon drastically reducing world population, and enslaving all survivors in a New World Order police state.
