People are people. No one deserves to die in the way that they did. I'm sure being a prostitute is not their dream job buddy. But unfortunately, these girls have no other opinions. And this sicko serial killer needs to be captured immediately.

High media coverage because serial murders are always high profile.

The question is: why at this time is there a new serial murder story? - The conspiracy theorist's answer would be that it is a good time to bury bad news in the midst of a media "fog", and there's plenty of "bad news" at the moment. The Litvinenko affair is still ongoing, and certain guilty parties would prefer the attention elsewhere. So would the British "Establishment" with the report on the death of Diana, as does the British Government with the dropping of the fraud investigation into the Saudi Tornado arms deal, and the police investigation of the PMs involvement in honours for cash.
Imagine...
"We need a diversion - how big? - like Soham - we can't kill kids, how about a "Ripper" case - OK - look, there's a few unsolved cases in East Anglia, how about we up the ante in Ipswich, and then let the Suffolk CID chase their tails for a few months, they are bound to come up with someone eventually. Just make it quick and simple and leave just enough clues to make it look like a smart serial killer - the CPS and the Media will do the rest. Oh, and make sure they are all naked when found, the press like that"

So five dead girls later, there is a frenzy of speculation and the public baying for an arrest, and all the gory details, and even the other important news just doesn't have the staying power to compete.

The law should protect ALL memebers of society. Try and look a little below the surface before judging these poor women. I notice you haven't said a word about the person who actually murdered them. I agree children must be protected and they generally are.

Sadly, it is a fact that most sexual abuse of children takes place at home and is carried out by people they know (usually parents or other family members), and not at the hands of a paedophile in the community. The newspapers don't make a big issue of that though as the truth is often too disturbing to live with. It's much easier to focus on a more obvious target isn't it?

What do you suggest? Maybe remove all children from their family?

How else the police going protect these women? They and every other female have the right to know that someone is / are going around killing prostitutes. Who is to say they he / they will stop at that?
In most cases prostitutes are VICTIMS and not the dregs of society. Some women have no choice in becoming prostitutes. Many are addicted to drugs or alcohol and are usually in debt due to this and have no other way of getting money to feed these habits.
What if it was male prostitutes who sell themselves for the same reasons? Would you think the same of them?

As for peads that is a completely different thing. These guys don't even deserve to be in public at all the prey on the most vulnerable of our society.

It's a red-herring to get too caught up on the fact that the victims were prostitutes, the problem person here is the nutter who's killing people, not the victims.

It's attitudes like yours that mean prostitutes are considered by sociopaths to be worthless and therefore ideal targets.

The fact of the matter is that people have been murdered. I don't care whether they've got two heads or purple noses, there's someone out there killing people.

I should just go back to reading the Daily Mail and ranting about stuff you haven't thought too hard about if I were you.

How do you define who the "more deserving members of our society", is it your opinion that if you don't have a 9 to 5 job, a nice house and socially acceptable lifestyle that you deserve to be murdered? Who are you to judge these women, and make out that they are "dregs of society" I'm sure that if any of them had ever been given a choice they would never have gotten involved in drugs, which inevitably lead to them selling their bodies to feed this habit. No woman wants to sell her body, but because there is not always somebody to reach out and help women like these, then they feel they have no choice. I cannot believe that you are condemning these women like this and condoning their death, as others have said, they were somebodys granddaughters, daughters, and sisters. Have a conscience and don't judge those who have unfortunately taken the wrong path in life and are now paying with what is the biggest price - their lives.

Even though I do not agree with most of your statement I do agree with your anger on the fact that paedophiles are allowed to be placed among the public the way they are, i do believe that this is a shocking failure in the justice system and something should be done to redeem this straight away.

Okay blah blah oops, I get your point regarding paedophiles...there is no way they should be let out let alone placed among families!!

As for the victims of this serial killer, they are mothers, daughters, sisters, they deserved a life just like you and me!!

It's so tragic that they're hard lives have come to such an undeserved and in-humane end. They were loved, and there are people mourning the loss of these women.

I know women who give their bodies freely every Friday or Saturday night to whomever that finds them attractive, but if one of there bodies were found the next day....to me, it would be as equally tragic!

This monster needs to be caught, and the quickest way to help the police is for mass broadcasting. If he isn't, then he may start preying on any woman that he feels is a prostitute, maybe because of the way they're dressed etc.

Are you for real ?????

Some butchering bastard is going around murdering young women and funnily enough the police want him or her caught.

And you ask why all the coverage

There is no significance to the profession that these poor girls are in, they are getting murdered.

All of these women have families and parents that are probably going through hell and back and all you can ask is "why".

I really do hope that nothing ever affects your life to the extent of these families but it would do you some good to try to understand just what they are going through

You really are a desperate individual if you believe all the C R A P that you have put in this question

Grow up and get into the real world and show some compassion

are you thick or just completely arrogant?

allot of women who work on the streets were once victims of abuse, or rape either as children or later in their lives.
they turn to drugs to block out whats happened to them, and yes others do get addicted to drugs through peer pressure which is still forgivable.

drug addicts and prostitutes are still human beings, and those 5 women have been victims to a terrible crime, they all came from loving families. they were not bad people, just unfortunate.

if you have this sort of attitude then whats stopping you from attacking a prostitute? maybe you have. its people like you who give this idea that those sorts of women are nothing and so can be treated as nothing, if we as a nation got rid of those wrong attitudes then maybe less of those women would fall victims cos people would no that they too have families who love them, they to have feelings, and they to deserve respect, their only crime was taking the wrong path in life and sometimes due to circumstances in their past. and sometimes they are just literly forced into it.

all victims of crime should be treated equally. none of them deserve to be hurt, especially not murdered, whether a prostitute or a doctor etc....

and what does it say for all the men who pay these prostitutes to be with them, doesn't that say something about them if you think prostitution is SO wrong?

you should be ashamed of yourself

Does someones life choice have anything to do with a murderous killer out there? Would it be more newsworthy in your opinion if these victims were clerks in a store? He is vicious he is doing unspeakable acts and the louder the media screams for his capture the more observant the public is to perhaps take notice and nab this sicko.
