That is a very good point! I never know what happens over there. Perhaps it's because they have a good economy and what not. Saying that, do you ever hear about what happens in Switzerland, I don't.

Hello,

I suspect the answer to your question is that Canada isnt overly dominated by the USA counter to what most people would expect.

Canada has a long standing connection & relationship with France mainly. And the French Language is still the dominant tongue.

Canada isnt linked & hasnt got close ties to the EU so thats yet another reason we dont hear alot about it.

Canada isnt massively important for its strategic postion in the world in the military sense. And Canada doesnt suffer major earthquakes either as far as I am aware.

The vastness of Canada is mostly trees & water, high mountains and long snaking coat lines. Not to mention snow fall & ice fields.

Canada is politically pretty stable too and these are all factors which mean that canada is doesnt get a high profile on the global or wider political stages.

I'm sure there are LOTS of things going on in Canada its just that we dont get to hear about them in the UK & EU media.

Because they are to busy making a good life for their entire country and not involved in b.s. I live close enough to Canada to get some tv stations and the way they present the news is far supiorer to the u.s. news channels. We go there several times a year and it is a real vacation, the first thing I notice is the people's faces show they are happy with their lives people can bash Canadians all they want, but I wish the U.S. had half the great attitude that Canadians have..

I think that plenty happens in Canada, but they somehow manage to keep it internal rather than splashing the least little thing out to the world. What happens in Canada stays in Canada.

Being Canadian, thank most of you for your comments.
An update on insulin, it was discovered by Banting and Best, both Canadians .
One other thing, less than 20% of Canadians speak French as their primary language. We have been predominantly English speaking since 1755. Anyway, Merry Christmas/Joyeux Noel & Hopefully next year will be a more peaceful one.

Funny you should ask, but just today I read that Canadian doctors have actually cured diabetes in mice. They took a revolutionary approach and went after nerve endings in the pancreas. It's pretty complicated, but from what I can make of it very promising. If you are diabetic you should love Canada!

Probably because they don't have terrorist organisations, aren't at war with anyone, there has been no disasters etc I'm sure things happen just not things interesting enough for news networks
