Were too shy! Ha ha! Just kidding.
We like to stay off the radar so we are free to sit in our igloos with toque's on drinking beer, eating backbaccon, watching hockey or curling and listening to Rush or Gordon Lightfoot!
We are not truly off the radar, we have Terrance and Phillip!

Well I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada which is the largest city in Canada, with a population of about 4 million in the whole metro area. Toronto is in Southern Ontario, and we are almost surrounded by the United States except for the northern part of Ontario that connects Southern Ontario to the rest of the country lol.
To the west is Michigan. To the East is New York State. To the south is a small part of Pennsylvania, and Ohio just on the other side of Lake Erie and of course the rest of Ontario to the north. I live in the most Americanized part of Canada, and we get most of the US channels, and I honestly know more about American politics than Canadian. I watch CNN on a daily basis, and sometimes FOX news. Today, I watched President Bush make a speech about Donald Rumsfeld's farewell thing, and there was a major snow storm in the northwestern states. What's happening in the west coast of Canada ... I couldn't tell you, because I really just don't know. I think even many Canadians don't know what's happening in Canada at certain times. It's like having a quiet child sit next to all the noisy loud popular kids in the cafeteria at school. The quiet kid will hear everything the noisy kids say, and if the quiet kid says something the noisy kids probably won't notice it.
Like some other people have said, we have a small tiny population compared to the United States. So obviously with more people in the United States, there is bound to be more people making more news. We have a news channel here called CTV news, and I would say 50% of their stories are about the United States.

The population in Canada is much lower than the population of the United States. A country with more people in it is always going to get more attention than another. England is not even the size of the province of Ontario ... and they have a bigger population than Canada, and England is on our news more than Canada.

We should pay more attention to Canada---the quiet socalists to our north with the porous borders!
As Homer Simpson once said, "I don't want to go to American Junior."
In truth, a great deal of Canada is still rural and sparsely populated. My mother and my uncle co-own the last working farm in Alberta before the Alaska pipeline. Montana is nothing compared to the Big Sky of Alberta.

You never hear much news about anyplace else, either. The news media are more about sales and entertainment than news, and in the U.S. most news is of Washington, New York, or California. Planes between NY and CA don't even fly over Canada.

Our politicians arent as corrupt as American politicians. There are barely ever any scandals in Canada, except for the sponsorship scandal, which most people dont even understand is about, and isn't even that scandalous, nothing big ever really happens here honestly.

Canada is a great country which doesn't have the major problems that we have here in the U.S. I do listen to a Canadian radio station now and then, and they discuss U.S. problems such as the Iraq war, as well as local politics. They are more interested in what the U.S. is doing than we are in what they are doing because a lot of what happens to them depends upon what the U.S. is up to.

You're right -- Canada is bigger than the US but there are few news stories from there. Maybe they are quiet, unassuming people, happy out of the limelight.
