The Tuesday morning news is full of this info, again. . .

Do you feel that tickets to this 'event' should be offered to all US families that have suffered the loss of a troop member, in this Bush 'war' against terrorists in Iraq?

1917 to 1920: Britain put Palestine under Military rule
1920 to 1948: Britain ruled Palestine under the mandate awarded to them at the end of World War I. The government was called "government of Palestine." The mandate government was under the British crown. On November 2, 1917, the British foreign minister Arthur Belfour with the consent of the British crown promised the Jews to give them the land of the Palestinians as a Jewish national homeland. This promise became known as the "Belfour declaration." France & Italy accepted the declaration in 1918, America in 1919, Japan in 1920. The Belfour declaration was a clear violation of the Palestinian people's right to their land and government.
Why aren't Americans called terrorist for fighting the English before independence? Palestinians are fighting for their land, their right. Why is the world silent? Why are they ignoring the historical truths? Is the west so brainwashed by their biased media to point of stupidity and ignorance?

I read an article on yahoo news that said "Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Sunday that his country was "forced to enter a war" with Somalia's Council of Islamic Courts after the group declared holy war on Ethiopia." And that, "On the northern front, government and Ethiopian troops entered the town of Bulo Barde, where just two weeks ago an Islamic cleric said anyone who did not pray five times a day would be executed."

Your thoughts??

why do you believe that if the U.S just pulled out all of our troops from Iraq that things would be just fine? wouldn't you be afraid that the Islamic extremeist or Iran would take over the "baby" government in Iraq and then go after Saudi Arabia and have control of most of the worlds oil?

What have the well to do people in thier own country have done for them. For the past 2 years I have seen people are decking diamonds and lavishing buffets in the hotel. Some of own fellow Singaporeans are suffering for the next meal and have to sell thier own house because they cannot afford to pay the bank loan. Divorce rates escalates due to financial constraint and I am not sure about people commiting suicide because of finance. Many have to leave thier families to work overseas and for worse they have to take local terms to get a job in overseas market which pays very little.
We may not affected by water that swept many away but many have quietly swept away from spouses, house and friends.

Their product is proven over and over to kill hundreds of thousands of people every year? Why is this "Legal" drug not banned around the world? Why do people get sentenced years in prison for dealing/selling"NON-CANCER" drugs. Is it because that "NON-CANCER" drugs are easy to grow and "NON-TAXABLE". Why does the goverment sue the Tabacco Companies, when we the people/tax payers pay for treatment, then the goverment sues,I dont understand.Smoking over the years has killed more people than a nuclear bomb. Our goverment will spend Billions a month to fight in another country to fight terrorist who blew up 2 towers and killed at the most 3500 people. But they bow down to American Companies who kill hundreds of thousands a year for profit. Please make me understand.

Who is really the "Special Interest" here? The big tobacco firms or these special interest group, who have gone from state to state encouraging smoking bans, and making huge profit off it also. I ask you, "When do the people win?" This is a war with special interest groups and big tobacco. Neither could care less about our well being. Neither tell the truth, why should they? More money to line thier pockets. So, I guess my question for the boards. When do the average citizen win while these two are battling it out for profit?

I would like to know your opinion on war. I know it is a big topic to talk about. But I keep seeing questions about who won WWII, the US or the UK. Everybody is always so proud of the fact that their country has a good military. Why would you be proud of that? I'm sounding like a hippy now lol. But my partners friend served in Iraq and he killed a child because a man hid behind him to throw a grenade. Now my partners friend has that on his concience for the rest of his life. Why is a good military a reason to be proud?

Ethiopian warplanes attacked two Islamist-held airfields in Somalia on Monday, witnesses said, in the most dramatic strikes yet of a war threatening to engulf the Horn of Africa.

The attacks -- one on the capital Mogadishu -- came hours after neighbouring Ethiopia formally declared war, saying it was protecting its sovereignty against a movement run by terrorists.

The Somalia Islamic Courts Council's (SICC) Web site hailed "mujahideen" troops who, it said, chanted passages from the Koran as they went into battle against militarily superior Ethiopian "crusaders".

Is this war a crusade?

Government Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi told Reuters 8,000 foreign fighters had poured into Somalia to back the SICC. He agreed with a recent U.S. accusation that the movement's top ranks were controlled by al Qaeda terrorists.
