I read an article on yahoo news that said "Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Sunday that his country was "forced to enter a war" with Somalia's Council of Islamic Courts after the group declared holy war on Ethiopia." And that, "On the northern front, government and Ethiopian troops entered the town of Bulo Barde, where just two weeks ago an Islamic cleric said anyone who did not pray five times a day would be executed."

Before anyone says Ethiopia is an American puppet please note their equipment is Russian made.
Ethiopia is fighting along side the legitimate government of Somalia, and I wish them the best of luck.
The CoI thought they could scare Ethiopia since they had such power over Somalia, how ever their plan backfired, the were not ready for a strong response. and now the United Ethiopian an Somali forces are trying to nip the problem in the bud and so far they have been quite successful, there are reports of large scale retreats by the CoI forces. However they are threating terror attacks simmilarto thet in iraq, However considering the fact Ethiopia is a prodominatly christian country I dont see that happening, and if it does it will be on a small scale.
So my feeling is the world needs to Support Somalia and Ethiopia and I hope it is a fast and successful war.

It's about time someone did something to curb the horrible "Islamic Courts" forces in Somalia. They rose out of nowhere last year and took over most of the country. If you recall, this is very similar to how the Taliban took over Afghanistan from the different warlords in the 1990's. If we do not act quickly, Somalia will become another hotbed and refuge for terrorism.
Maybe Ethiopia provoked the Islamic Courts, maybe not, it actually doesn't matter. The fact is that the international community, and the USA, must put their weight behind Ethiopia on this one.
When Islamist militants are given a large geographic area, with little law and order, they take over and not only rule with their own twisted version of Islamic law "shari'a", but they work hard to "export" their fanaticism. Just look at Afghanistan under the Taliban and Iran now. Let us not give these militants another country from which to operate safely.

UN means nothing just it's a name shake....and orgnization which used by 5 country especailly USA for their benefit....it's suck.....UN need to orgnized again......BTW way it's true Ethiopian forced to enter the war by Islamic courts........ in this world who's is usefull for USA UN will support that

I didn't know the Ethiopians had an Air Force.....
That whole region is corrupt though. A bunch of warlords without concern for the innocent citizens (women and children).
