I just read a news story saying that they were going to hang Saddam tonight by 10 pm eastern time. How do you feel about this? I am curious to find out how people feel about it. Personally, while I am glad that he not allowed to continue his tyranny of Iraq, I think he should spend the rest of his life in prison. Enough people have died because of this war. When is the killing going to stop?

What's the sense or it?
I mean it's like letting him off the hook,
shouldn't the punishment should be a harsh life at a max security prison in isolation where it would be manditory for him to work had(ie. do mansonry) and through that pay to the society. Our tax money wouldnt be used to support his prison stay he would have to pay for his existance by what his harsh work earned him.

only to have, a few decades later, it reform again? ATT, the parent company, within a few years of engulfing SBC (and, in turn, PAC Bell), is now approved to swallow Bell South. Why not just have ATT and Verizon merge and be done with it?

There are people over there in Iraq that are still for this man, and by hanging him would it be more problems with the US military? Would it make things much worse for America with the war?

You remember what happened on 9/11,and it was our presidents fault, and now in like 2 minutes Sadaam is about to be executes, wich really worries me about Iraq trying to get revenge. I'm thinking about taking a visit to Cananda,i'm worried, think about it.the people in Iraq probably envy us,they think we took their president(whatever its called there),now we're killing him,put it all together,we're at risk.

this is for everyone, but especially for liberals, if by some weird freak accident the USA were to get attacked on our own soil (again) by Islamic extremist would you take up arms and fight to the death to save your family and friends or would you convert to Islam to save your own A**?

Ultimately, the U.S. may be right to allow the Iraqis to decide Saddam's fate for themselves. But this is no time for triumphalism. It should shame both Americans and Iraqis to hear a man as repugnant as Saddam presenting himself as a uniter and imploring Iraqis "not to hate." Executing Saddam won't extinguish those fires of hatred any more than it will relieve the pain of his victims. Only when Iraqis build a decent, humane society at peace with itself will they be able to erase the memory of the crimes for which Saddam died.

I keep seeing reference to race and race baiting in the Duke LaCrosse case where the lacrosse players have been falsely accused of rape. What exactly IS the race angle? Were the players white and the stripper black or something? I haven't seen any picture s of any of the people involved.
