Well, that's Iraq and that's how they do business. If you are going to give a death penalty then it does seem like a good idea to conclude things without undue delay. Unfortunately, in the US we have the ACLU, which is a subversive, anti-American organization that runs around suing everybody in the defense of criminals, terrorists, and hatemongers. This is one reason why no one on death row can be executed in a timely manner: the ACLU is all over the place working against decent, law-abiding Americans and gumming up the works in support of criminals. If the ACLU were operating in Iraq then Saddam Hussein would be sitting in jail for the next 50 years, just like in America.

Saddam is being put to death by Iraq. There is no 20 years of appeals in Iraq. It's even a shorter time in other countries. They may have a week to live after their trial.

Even in America (and other democratic countries) people have been incarcerated for crimes that they did not commit. This still gives those few a chance to fight for a reversal of the court's decision.

He is being executed according to Iraq's laws, not American laws.

According to Iraq law, a person sentenced to death must be put to death within 30 days.

First, no longer each state has the dying penalty. 2d, some states are extra probably to condemn someone to dying than others. have you ever seen how a lot of human beings Texas executes? Texas performed 24 of the fifty two human beings performed in the US in 2009.

They're on death row for so long because our justice system is slow.

THAT'S A VERY GOOD QUESTION ,ONE THAT I ALWAYS ASK TOO. BUT OUR COUNTRY SHOWS MORE MERCY FOR OUR PRISONERS ..I GUESS. IF IT WERE UP TO ME ALL THE CRIMINALS IN OUR COUNTRY WOULD GET THE SAME TREATMENT AS SADDAM IS GETTING. THAT'S MY OPINION ANYWAY
