I just read a news story saying that they were going to hang Saddam tonight by 10 pm eastern time. How do you feel about this? I am curious to find out how people feel about it. Personally, while I am glad that he not allowed to continue his tyranny of Iraq, I think he should spend the rest of his life in prison. Enough people have died because of this war. When is the killing going to stop?

I realize that the ultimate decision was made by the Iraqis, but you and I both know that Georgie Boy had some sway in the outcome.

The killing will never stop as history has shown. It is an unfortunate part of human nature. Hanging Saddam may give some Iraquis closure but will do nothing for the so called "war on terror" (Worst of the media coined phrases in my opinion by the way). There will be no end to the violence and hate crimes that humans are determined to committ against other humans until we all blow ourselves up or the "Higher Power" or God decides to put an end to it. There is violence, hate, and murderous crimes being spread/committed all over the world; We, Americans, are focused on the "Middle East" because that is what the media and our polititians choose to ram down our throats. Hundreds of Thousands are being slaughtered in Africa and we don't hear about that very often, except when Bono decides to raise money for their cause. So you tell me when do you think it will stop????

Not sure what you base your knowledge of GW's sway over the execution decision. Sources please?

Why should people waste their money to feed and give him shelter for the rest of his life. When he killed and tortured all those Iraqi's do you think he lost any sleep over it I doubt it.Do you think he said let's waste money and feed and give them shelter hardly.Tomorrow is my birthday and that's the best birthday present I could ask for.I hope they broadcast it.Now I hope some of those Iraqi families can have some closure for all their family members that suffered at the hands of saddam.Al-Maliki said opposing Saddam's execution was an insult to his victims. His office said he made the remarks in a meeting with families of people who died during Saddam's rule.

"Our respect for human rights requires us to execute him, and there will be no review or delay in carrying out the sentence," al-Maliki said.

State television ran footage of the Saddam era's atrocities, including images of uniformed men placing a bomb next to a youth's chest and blowing him up in what looked like a desert, and handcuffed men being thrown from a high building.

About 10 people registered to attend the hanging gathered in the Green Zone before they were to go to the execution site, the Iraqi official said.

I have no reason at all to believe Bush had any influence over the matter. Rather, it is more of the good old fashioned hate speech the liberals are so fond of spewing. Anybody that believes them deserves the screwed up world they are leading us too.

As far as Saddam, the judges determined under the law of Iraq that he should die. End of subject as it is their law and we have no say whatsoever in the matter.

Well, the decision was made by HIS people. Rarely, does that area of the world..imprison. Execution is their style.

While the US may have "gone to war", the decisions are made by the Iraqi people, but even that will not prevent the violence from escalating between the different factions.
