If your loved ones were strapped to a jeep and pulled apart while alive, or sprayed with mustard gas until their skin burned and died screaming, or buried alive, or their private parts sawed off, to name a few tortures that Saddam personally conducted, what would you do? Invite him to your party and be his drinking buddy?

I believe he has done undeniably evil things to his own people and is absolutely guilty of crimes against humanity. However, I am not an advocate of the death penalty under any circumstances, not even for Saddam or others like him. I do not see how putting a person to death ever really accomplishes closure for the victims or true justice. I believe a life in prison with no chance of ever getting out is a much worse sentence.
That is my feelings about it.

Saddam should absolutely not be hanged.
Rather, he should be subjected to a torturous stay in an Iraqi prison like he put others in for 10 years then he should be subjected to chemical weapons.
After his death, he should be thrown in an anonymous grave.
That would be fair to him. But it would not be fair to all the people and families whom he destroyed. But since they can't be helped, and my first suggestions can't be carried out, hanging is appropriate.

Look, I'm all for the eye of and eye ****. I didn't follow any of the trial crap, but I know he's a bad guy who did some bad ****.
It's like the murders in the US, they should be murdered, too. Rapists, should be raped. You cut my hand off, I should be allowed to cut yours off.
It's harsh and it's not "moral" but whatever. Eye for an eye, and I'm quite certain he's hung some people in his day--even worse. I don't much agree with this sitting in jail crap. Eye for an eye, he gets what he gets and just being hung--he deserves worse, as I'm sure all of his victims would agree.

If they do it; he will have a merciful death compared to all the atrocities he did to people. Do you think fairness exist? Than again we cannot use the law an eye for an eye because than we would be as evil as the perpetrator.

Do you think he was thinking of "fair" when he gassed all those people and dropped them in a big hole?
No it's not fair...He should be drawn and quartered by some very tired horses so it's a slower process and lasts longer.

What does fair have to do with it? It's what Bush wants. If you want justice, then string-up Bush right beside Saddam.
