Seven Marines and a Navy corpsman were charged Wednesday with premeditated murder in the shooting death of an Iraqi man who was pulled from his home, bound, and shot while U.S. troops hunted for insurgents. If convicted they could face the death penalty.
its tragic no matter what happens. A man is dead, his family devastated and the lives of seven soldiers are ruined. In a court of law, determining innocence or guilt can be perplexing. The question is not are they innocent rather are they guilty? Based on the description they are not innocent, they killed the man. But are they guilty of murder? I think with all that goes on in Iraq, it’s enough to make the most reasonable and rational person crazy as hell! This “conflict” has taken average men and women, our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, & transformed them into paranoid killers. Can any of you imagine life in Iraq as a soldier or a civilian? Living in a constant state of fear and paranoia. Constantly on guard for the enemy.
