people who kill, rape, steal or just hurt. Aren't they people too?

Many people who do these terrible things justify their acts with their own reasoning. Most of them are just making excuses to get away with crimes. For instance, the person who kills someone during a robbery might say "They shouldn't have fought back".
My belief is that, unless a person is insane, eventually they will regret their actions.

it's a mental illness, they feel no empathy. With some people it's animals, with some it's other people. I would not be surprised to find out one day that a gene is involved. Some people have the ability to reduce people to a state of non being, some times they delude themselves into believing the person wants this done or that they reciprocate...like in child molesters. I don't believe there is any way to truly understand...but do you feel guilty if you kill a fly? For these monsters our mothers, sisters, dads, brothers and children are flies.

People who hurt dont feel much except hurt and resentment themselves. They need help as much, and in many cases, more than thier victims. Much inner conflict that expresses itself towards others can be resolved when the victim and the perpetrator come together and come to an understanding. Our world may not be ready yet for such advanced techniques but is working well in smaller communities like here in new zealand and polynesia

That always confused me too. I have no idea. Maybe they were treated badly in the past by people who had no regrets. Or maybe they think that somehow the person deserved to be hurt. I guess I did have some idea.

Some people who hurt others are hurting personally themselves, sometime their pain is blocking out other's pain. Some people are just plain cruel.

They probably have no conscience about what they do. No remorse. Something like that or else they wouldn't keep doing things like that.
