Seven Marines and a Navy corpsman were charged Wednesday with premeditated murder in the shooting death of an Iraqi man who was pulled from his home, bound, and shot while U.S. troops hunted for insurgents. If convicted they could face the death penalty.
its tragic no matter what happens. A man is dead, his family devastated and the lives of seven soldiers are ruined. In a court of law, determining innocence or guilt can be perplexing. The question is not are they innocent rather are they guilty? Based on the description they are not innocent, they killed the man. But are they guilty of murder? I think with all that goes on in Iraq, it’s enough to make the most reasonable and rational person crazy as hell! This “conflict” has taken average men and women, our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, & transformed them into paranoid killers. Can any of you imagine life in Iraq as a soldier or a civilian? Living in a constant state of fear and paranoia. Constantly on guard for the enemy.

America.! what a great country.........!
I am not an American, but I admire this country and its people.

Think about it: Here we are, at war. The mantra here is kill or be killed. If you are a soldier, in such a situation where you are facing an enemy, you have to make a split second decision.

If I am in this situation, I do not know what I would have done, may be kill. Because it is fear. Not because I am facing an enemy. I do not know if I have an enemy in front of me.

In Iraq, it has happened time and time again. Posing as innocent citizens, appearing to be unarmed but kill the soldiers.

I opened the sentence by saying I admire Americans. Here is why. The fairness and justice even in times of war is like no parallel anywhere in the world.

Mylai massacre in Nam is a good example. America brought its own soldiers to book because their sons and daughters must fight a fair war. The very soldiers who were trained to kill - the same soldiers who were taught to react to danger and guard against it by any means - are the ones that were asked to be fair..! What a country....!!!!

you put end ur question with a great thinking "Can any of you imagine life in Iraq as a soldier or a civilian?"... I cann't blame on soldiers.. This is a known incident... During the war thousands and thousands of innocent died. if u check the stratergy the soldiers died on both side is lesser than the civilian cauality.

Solution is in the hands of world leader.... "No to war" ... The earth is not ready accept any more war...

Final result of the iraq war out come
01. US and allies got good business of arms and oil
02. US and allies soldiers gone mad.
03. Increase in the Number of terrorist
04. Life lost for n number of families in iraq
05. and So on ...
The out come arms business and death of human value

Can you imagine yourself in Iraq for a second, imagine you were the family of the guy that got shot, he was innocent, and they had no right. And even if life in Iraq is crazy, if they can't handle and are just going to go and start shooting people, then they need to get there selves out of there how many more ppl do we need to lose before we start getting common sense.

it's war. These men are victims of rage and fear. our people are being killed and tortured every day. Who is speaking for them. I am appalled that these men are being tried for this crime. I am appalled that it happened. A dishonorable discharge is sufficient when the circumstances are reviewed. I believe they will face a horrible punishment, because Bush wants to show everyone what a great leader he is. These men will be the scapegoat to prove
to other countries that we do not tolerate terrorism. It's so very screwed up, so many are dieing, and can anyone tell me why.

Their punishment should be to be assigned as guards in the prison where George Bush, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice and hundreds of others who are responsible for this quagmire will be held upon sentencing for their multiple war crimes.

You don't have the facts. You were not there and are going on hear say. Even our news media tell us lies so who can you trust?
They act as though our soldiers are not at war but for some reason act as though we are "playing war" No guilt its war plain and simple.

Um, the punishment can't be decided until guilt or innocence is decided, eh?

I think you're getting ahead of yourself.
