I have heard that Iran is planning on changing how it trades oil from dollars to euros, and as such it seems to me that the petro-dollar recycling system America has will be broken, and because of this the whole nuclear thing is being made up, as an excuse to get public opinion behind invading Iran.

There's a rumor on myspace that this guy www.myspace.com/ineedatipdrill or imahustlababy is suspected in the murders of 53 women he met online. Is this one of those dumb rumors? There are posts of warnings from the state police on some sites but they could be bogus.

It seems like a few years ago, noone cared. They have always been around. Yet out of the blue, Immigration became a hot issue. What happened.

I have a feeling it is because of 9/11, but Mexicans have nothing to do with 9/11 so someone explain.

It really is difficult to remain unbiased when it comes to discussing Americans. They arrogate to themselves the right to act as this planet's policeman, to condemn other countries for real or perceived breaches of human rights and to rail against forms of government which in American eyes are less democratic than theirs. As Americans are such good Christians, surely they know the passage in the Bible that says: "O thou hypocrite, before thou wouldst remove the splinter from thy brother's eye, attend to the beam in thine own eye!" Never has a passage from the Bible been more apt. So naturally do Americans become defensive when their own shortcomings are pointed out to them, because to face the truth would be unbearable.
Which other self-proclaimed peace-loving country has waged so many wars against smaller defenceless countries, has allowed the members of their military to commit atrocity after atrocity going back to WW2, the Korean War, Vietnam, and now Iraq?
In what other country do you need to be a millionaire or at least be able to raise millions in order to be elected to parliament or chief executive?
Where else on this globe has the education system broken down and/or deteriorated to such an extent that children no are no longer able to read and write or do simple arithmetic and need to take remedial classes upon entering college?
In which other country with the exception of certain Middle Eastern nations does a small fundamentalist religious minority have the power to manipulate both government and the media to enforce a Victorian concept of morality upon an unwilling population?
I could go on and on, but let this suffice.
No wonder Americans are sensitive when it comes to discussing their shortcomings

I have heard him speak when he visited my town and was very impressed. I think he has all the qualities to become a great President.

He does not support lobbying in fact he is totally against it, which will cut out corruption. His policies are well thought out and he was against the war in Iraq from the start.

To those who say....."Oh he does not have the experience" I say why not?. How can anyone have experience without actually doing the job. It's a cliche used by racists and bigots who really do not want to see an African American in the White House.

I say he is more than qualified for the job so give the man a chance.

We saw them expose a CIA officer named Valerie Plame

Exposing a CIA officer is an act of treason and it also exposed many others that were still under cover out in the field.
They exposed her to discredit her husnad Joe Wilson who had went to Niger and verified Saddam did not purchase components for WMD's like the Whitehouse said was the reason for the Iraq war. "Mushroom Clouds"

Now they have exposed a company who did nothing but research terror groups and the websites they use. This took the last seven years to develope and was an enormous tool in tracking chatter and video posts by Islamic extremists. Because of this al_Qaida is now silent on the net with little or no way of knowing what they are up to. The whole program has gone black.

How are we supposed to fight a war on terror when the Whitehouse keeps going out of its way to damage information capabilities.

America is no safer since 9/11, other thanthe fact that they put troops as targets in the Middle East

of using stupid, moronic terms like 'McFanns'? This is a (potential) murder investigation, not something to take the pee out of or make a joke of.

I find the McCanns suspicious, but as I am not a brainless hysterical freak, I understand that I cannot make an informed judgement as I have not got access to the evidence in the case.

I agree with those who say that it is blind to refuse to consider that the McCanns are inviolved. I'm not saying they are, just that something doesn't seem right here and never has.

But WHY belittle the importance of such a situation by using such pointless terms in a spiteful way? It's really very pathetic.

Am reposting this as many of you thought that having the party based purely in England was somewhat divisive. So, we took on board your objections, we thought about them, we changed our minds, then looked at the polls and changed them back again...here you go

Having given this much consideration I have decided to form a new politicial party to be known as the YAPPIE Party (Yahoo Answers Political Party in Europe) and I am looking for new members who can unite behind a set of policies that we can take to the country.

If you are interested in becoming a founder YAPPIE, please sign below indicating what policies you would like us to take forward to the people of this country.

Of course, starting any new political party can be an expensive endeavour so if anyone has the odd £100,000 lying around we'll see what we can sort you out with when we get elected *nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more*

Who's with me??? If the Yappies are united, we will never be divided!!!

Meanwhile the Washington Post reports a group of World War II interrogators gathered on Friday at Fort Hunt and criticized the Bush administration's interrogation practices. 90-year-old Henry Kolm said: "We got more information out of a German general with a game of chess or ping pong than they do today, with their torture." One of the World War II veterans refused to accept honors from the Army's Freedom Team Salute, citing his opposition to what has happened at Guantanamo and in Iraq.
