of using stupid, moronic terms like 'McFanns'? This is a (potential) murder investigation, not something to take the pee out of or make a joke of.

I find the McCanns suspicious, but as I am not a brainless hysterical freak, I understand that I cannot make an informed judgement as I have not got access to the evidence in the case.

I agree with those who say that it is blind to refuse to consider that the McCanns are inviolved. I'm not saying they are, just that something doesn't seem right here and never has.

But WHY belittle the importance of such a situation by using such pointless terms in a spiteful way? It's really very pathetic.

flamebolt. I take your point there, but I would argue that the people who descend to calling others "McFanns" are not the people who will take a sensible argument on board (generally speaking from experience of this place).

Flamebolt, you are absolutely right, I appreciate your input, and I think you did express yourself better than I did. Thanks for being sensible. :-)

I totally agree, but I have to say that calling people 'brainless freaks' isn't the best way to approach this. Anyway, that aside, I agree that the last thing anyone should be doing is making jokes, particularly about Madeleine (I have seen some about her, believe it or not, and they disgust me.) I've always said that something wasn't right, and I agree that people should keep their minds open, instead of refusing to acknowledge that there could be another, just as valid, argument (just a few are like this, though.) Most people are actually prepared to listen to another argument though, and accept that they could be wrong. I've never judged the McCanns' guilt/innocence because I don't have the evidence to, and it's not down to me to do so. The only thing I have done, and will continue to do, is pray for Madeleine and her safe return.

One of the best and most sensible posts on this case so far, have a star.

EDIT: I know that you feel strongly, and I know what you meant, but there will be someone on here who doesn't agree with your question, and will exploit that phrase to get it removed (which would be a real shame, because it's a great post!) That's the only reason I said that, I wasn't trying to cause aggro.

Completely agree with you...
But one must realise that the name calling arises from both sides... Methinks its not really those who debate objectively but those who have nothing much to add who indulge in such idiosyncrasies...

If the police think the parents are suspect than there is a reason. Where is their little girl. Why did they give her knock out drops instead of hiring a sitter? They are stupid to leave the children alone. that in and of itself is a crime.

I do not think they are involved....but if it is so simpe...how can they not find the body, surely the worlds press must have photographic evidence? Perhaps they have filmed them burying her?

Sorry but I think the focus should be on finding the poor girl, alive or dead, and then we can start pointing the finger (not necessarily at the mccanns)

It does seem to be turning into a "I told you so" competition from certain people, which is a shame. It's got all competitve and rather bitchy. It's sad when people can not respect others views, especially when a case is as serious as this one.

A bit like the terms such as 'the hate mob' and 'witch hunters' they are just snidey little ways of annoying 'the other side'.

And it works.

**Oh thank you - thumbs down - so McFann is out of order but Hate Mob is acceptable? Surely they are both as acceptable as each other no?

I've been wondering that myself. They are not there they don't have access to the evidence. They are not there investigating this stuff personally them self's. I dunno how people can make these jokes and decide that they are guilty or innocent as they are not there. Some of these people write jokes and stuff and then other people just believe them. It doesn't make sense.

I agree. Some people round here are as guilty of making the whole thing into a brand as they are.
