He was invited to speak, then it seems to me he was ambushed by his host. To me this was bad manners, and worse diplomacy.

I keep reading about really incredible news where I live, but can never get them to cable news, because I don't know how. Not having time to watch as much TV as I used to, I have no idea if some of these news are reaching other parts of the world.

I've noticed in these past couple of years that not necessarily what is printed in a Houston paper_even if it's really "juicy" news_comes up either in the local paper or cable news. I recently read Texas official comment about that same news bit that I extensively read about two years ago. But nothing more.

I like being informed and think others want to be informed as well. And the best way for everyone to know what's really going on is through cable news.

Don't have access to cell phone at present, so won't be able to use any of those modern features. PLEASE tell me how I can e-mail news channels.

I read the article about the Colorodo University reporter saying F**K Bush in his article. He may now lose his job, but he is saying that his freedom of speech is being taken away. I have read many comments of people saying how this controversy is just another example of freedom of speech being eroded.

People need to understand that freedom of speech means that you won't be arrested for saying what you want. Example, I have the freedom to tell my boss to F**K Off if I want. I wont get arrested, but I will get fired.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. What do you all think?

at a campaign fundraiser, Hillary Clinton criticized Vice President Cheney and called him 'Darth Vader.' Cheney denied it and said, 'Darth Vader is evil, half-machine and always wears a cape. And I don't own a cape.'"
what do you think

I was reading an article about Rupert Murdock. He is an Australian born Media mongul who owns fox and controlling shareholder of News Corp. (He expanded his news business in to Great Britian and China).

It has been stated by several sources and implied by wikepedia that this man has an agenda to shape public perception and world views toward a ultra-conservative slant in America. Isn't this totally against what the news is supposed to be? I thought the news was supposed to share what is going on in the world instead of shaping my opinions of it.

This man has eclepsed Ted Turners media empire by controlling Amer. Satelite T.V., Direct TV, Myspace, intermix media and he just bought The (historic) Wall Street Journal.

It has been well documented that FOX is not objective and they have "targets" to shape negative perceptions; Hillary, Al Sharpton and etc.

MY QUESTION FOR YOU:
1. Do you think that this type of agenda driven media monopoly censors the "Freedom of the Press"

the daily express has uncovered a new witness who backs kate mc cann's story that she shouted "they've taken her !, they've taken her !". now not being infront of all the evidence, i will not express my full opinion, but this appears to be a very strange reaction. i would think she was hiding or had gone walk about looking for mummy or daddy, or even got distracted by the sound of music coming from the restaurant.

if this is anyway is mean't to help kate, i think otherwise, what do you think ?

Just as the great President Reagan fired the striking air traffic controllers? I think he should be allowed to fire every one of them and then open up the doors for Mexicans to come in and work there for 3 dollars a hour! That would teach those libs and dems that America is tired of giving free hand-outs!
Who else agrees?

You spend millions of dollars investigating and prosecuting someone for killing a dog, things that people in other countries eat, but your justcie department would not look into threatened violence and racism against children not just in louisiana but all around your country.

please explain.

Why this damned fixation amongst Asian people with having fair skin?
I'm Black .. I'm not trying to lighten my skin to look white or whatever. It's weird this whole fixation and what is even more annoying is the absolute denial that it goes on. A news story was just on BBC News 24 about it. This skin lightening thing is a multi million dollar industry in India and although some Black people do the same thing [no one I know] it is nowhere near as prevalent as in India where kids are taught about the need for light skin from a very early age and are then smothered in skin lightening products.

So the police think that Kate and Gerry killed Madeleine and they believe that they will “escape justice” because there is no body.

So this is the “Arguido/a” concept: We think you did it, but we don’t have enough evidence to prove it. You now have 12 months to prove to us that you are innocent; and by the way you are officially gagged now; any attempt from you to speak to prove your innocence will put you in jail!

Utterly despicable statement!

ACCUSING WITHOUT PROOF???
Its basically a categorization of people into a particular negative slot without any logical / rational basis.

Most bigots spend their time instigating mobs into a frenzy of hate & despair...

Any thoughts...???
