Just as the great President Reagan fired the striking air traffic controllers? I think he should be allowed to fire every one of them and then open up the doors for Mexicans to come in and work there for 3 dollars a hour! That would teach those libs and dems that America is tired of giving free hand-outs!
Who else agrees?

I don't agree. I'm 50% Mexican and a Legal Citizen here since birth and your question is offensive to me and Probably others. Because I get paid 20+ an hour not 3. Are you saying you want the president to fire people for standing up for theirselves and rights. I hope not.

I think we should fire Bush....

He let a terrorism country President come speak in Columbia. How Stupid.

I think the UAW being on strike, again, is just an example of stupidity. President Bush cannot and will not fire the GM workers however. He wouldn't even if he could. They are not doing a job of national importance like the air traffic controllers were. The unions already have a lot and they just keep wanting more when the auto-makers go under they will not have anything. They do not seem to get the connection between costs of doing business and prices on cars. The price of cars keep going up and people stop buying because they cannot afford a car. Then GM starts losing money. It loses enough money it goes out of business and then where will the union workers be.

Hey soccermom, stick with eating your McDonalds and talking on your cell phones while driving your suv. You clearly don't know what you are talking about ( and you have kids and that is scary ). Flight controllers are and were Federal employees. Auto workers are not. Bush can't fire someone else's employees. And libs and dems are not giving free handouts - the borders are open and foreign aid to other countries is higher than it has ever been. So stick with what you know ( which is not much pertaining to the political and economic arenas ) and those of us who are paying attention discuss these things with some ( hopefully ) reasonable intelligence.

Right and, where is he going to get 60,000 people to replace them?

In the second place, what right has Bush to come into a private organization and fire the workers, the traffic controllers were under government control.

And, what right do you have to suggest to have to Mexicans to came in a take over the jobs, are you a Mexican.

in this day in time you got to stand on what you beleive in and that is also being fare with the work force as much as gm is chargeing for their cars they should give these people everything that they need [have you ever worked on a factory floor?] i have for 30 years and it is not easy putting up with the mangement, just the concrete leaves a terrible affect on your bones and joints swollen feets and hands goes with working in the factory and the noise and tention is all most unbearable not counting working on the assembly line and enhaleing all those different fumes in the plant plus don't forget they give you a quote to keep up or get fired so you want the mexican[illegals] to have the jobs for 3 dollars an hour i call that stealing from the usa i'am willing to stick with the union and the people on that job for they deserve a good days pay for a good days work

No, I think all those striking GM workers should rally to take Bush out of power. And as for opening doors to Mexicans and other illegal aliens...shame on your for even thinking that. What the hell kind of country are we that we can't take care of our own but will be willing to make industry suffer just to be able to pay $3 an hour to some illegal who doesn't belong here and is just going to drain the damn system for all he can take. It makes me sick how people don't think this country should be run by AMERICANS anymore! Dammit people, we are becoming the minority in our own country. How sad is that???

He can't. Dispite attempts by Republicans, this is still a democracy and we still have capitalism. The auto workers do not work for the federal government. Bush does not have the authority or power to fire them, not that having lack of authority or power has ever stopped him before.

Well, thank God he doesnt have the power to do that. Of course though such things as what is legal and what is not has never stopped him before so he just might end up trying to do just that.
As far as paying Mexicans $3 a hour to do those jobs, how about we pay them that to do your job? ANYONE can be replaced in todays workforce.
(that is if you have a job).

Bush started a war on false pretenses of imminent threat, costing thousands of lives on both sides. Fire him.

Those workers will not get fired, they will get laid off because the already faltering American auto industry cannot last through a strike for very long
