Over 2000 of which were abusive messages left which is why the comments box was removed a few days ago. I know they were abusive as I was pressing the refresh button on the petiton one evening watching all the comments being added and there were over 2000 of them...

Out of a population of 70million people in the UK with supposedly vast support, shouldn't there be more signatories?

tgibbyson- sign all you want. That is still not going to make the petiton reach the miilion mark.
someone on the Mirror forum already emailed all the major newspapers and portuguese ones to show them the vast numbers of negative comments on that petiton [when the comments were being shown] because people know that the Mccanns would try and pass of the petiton as them having just support!

yahooyahoo - No you are the one getting edgy as I am telling the truth. They have as many letters of support as I do!!!!
If they have thousands of letters every day why are these same people signing the petition. It's a joke.
No one supports them except desperate people !!!!!

Michelle C - the signature comments were removed about 3-4 days ago as people were leaving negative comments on it. The McCanns tried to stop this by exposing email addresses but people simply made up email addresses when they left the comments. so they removed the comments altogether! Ha

Steve C - It is the McCanns petiton. It says on the right hand side of it "This petition is being launched by Phil McCann, Gerry McCann's sister who wholeheartedly believes in the innocence of Kate and Gerry McCann and is desperate to have the search for her missing niece Madeleine McCann resume"

yahooyahoo - You are the biggest hypocrite out there. I posted a question earlier and you called me SICK. When I posted a response you removed your answer....... and you call me angry. I have also observed a lot of your response and no one could exactly call you calm and collected.
Sorry but you are the angry one love. I could care less if you agreed with me or not. I'm just getting my point across and if you do not like that this is not my problem.

so Tot-et-moi - Out of 70 million people, the majority of the populus are simply not interested? Well in that case I take it that the so-called letters of support they get are imaginary as well. People you are implying are more inclined to write long rambling letters to the McCanns showing support then sign a petiton that takes all of twenty seconds. That petiton even allows you to put down a false name and email address for god's sake

this is for YAHOOYAHOOYAHOO, you call someone sick but you are not acting well either, why pick a fight with someone you hardly know. this is a free place to express our thoughts and opinions which are not bound to be the same, we all see things from a different point of view, so pls take a chill pill and live and lets live!!!!

I do help the petition for the Mccann's to be investigated via Social centers. although I surely have examine a quote from Leicestershire Social centers to the result that, "we are responsive to the sensitivity of the concern to the Mccann's". i don't think that they are going to ever be puzzled via all people.

because it is a stupid petition. why would any signatures of british citizens make the portugese police accept that they are innocent just because we say so. i believe they are innocent of murder but i have not signed it because i am not niave enough to believe it will make a difference. that is why. the petition has been worded wrong, had it been a message of support petition then there would have been more, you also have to remember that not everyone has acess to a computer or the internet and of the 60million population plenty of those will not speak or write or understand english, some will be children, some will be blind and some will be sitting on the fence and some ppl are just idiots who have nothing better to do to occupy their time or their hearts and leave abusive messages to a family who may be suffering the worst thing imagineable, the loss of a child.

The signatures are not showing????? when i checked it a couple of days ago people were putting their comments in the name box due to the comment page being deleted, have they now removed the actual signatures for the same reason. The majority of the comments were against the McCs with some of them being down right libellous

You will still need this account tomorrow, if you ask as many so don't delete till up to another level.
Yes, I saw the petition, unfortunately too many anti McCanns signing it only added to the numbers.
Not one of Aunty Phils best ideas.

Perhaps because most of us aren't as obsessed as people who feel strongly enough to sign petitions against them.
I haven't signed any petition because ultimately, I don't know whether or not they are guilty. I'd like to think they are not, but actually I am not God, or a judge.
Yes, I can and do support them as parents, and yes, I will defend them to people who are vile and nasty. but I cannot say that they are innocent or guilty.
So I personally, prefer not to sign a petition, either way.

There probably are thousands and thousands who support them but are not so actively wound up in the case to go to the bother of signing petitions. On the other hand the people who are against them are so wound up with hatred and venom eating them up that they feel the compulsion to vent their wrath by leaving vitriolic messages at this site. Some of them would explode with hatred otherwise, perfectly understandable I'm sure if you're that way inclined.

Are you quite sure its "their" petition? Not that I´m a McCann fan, but it would be a bizarre thing for them to set up.

'They' don't have global support!
MADDY HAS SUPPORT - As in finding her and what happened to her.
The two things are completely separate matters and I wish the McCanns would wake up and realise that.
They are not relevent - Maddy is
