This is a quote from Albert Einstein:

"He who joyfully marches to music rank and file, has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."

It appears as if Albert E. would not support George Bush, the War or the Troops....

in Iraq and Afghanistan? Why not bring all of all those Halliburton type contractors back home and have them fix the bridges and roads that are in disrepair? If you want to experience real terror, drive across a bridge that can't pass a safety inspection. The bad guys are us if we don't do more to prevent what happened in Minnesota from happening again.

A toddler who had been taken into care died after being found floating in her foster parents' swimming pool.

Anna Hider, 17 months, was discovered unconscious in the water by the couple at their home in Hampshire on Sunday evening.

She was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in nearby Portsmouth, but was pronounced dead an hour later.

Last night, Anna's devastated parents blamed the decision to take their daughter into care for her death.

It is believed the foster family were entertaining guests at a party at the house when the tragedy unfolded. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=471778&in_page_id=1770&ct=5

I was curious whether it was a hand held camera that was coincidently shooting the bridge at the time or whether it was a surveillance camera.

The one I'd like to see disappear is "hammering out a deal." Whenever any kind of negotiation happens, the two sides are described as "hammering out a deal." Whatever happened to "negotiating" and "have come to an agreement"?

Also, I'd like to see "cautiously optimistic" disappear.

What phrases would you like to see disappear from journalism?

Take the cost of one tank: 4.3 million dollars. So what would a new bridge over the Mississippi in Mineappolis/St. Paul cost? Divide by 4.3 million and that's how many tanks to build it.
Would it have been wise to spend less on tanks and more on bridges HUH?

Obama is dripping his inexperience all over this week. First, he said he would sit down and talk with dictators and supporters of terrorism, and was roundly chastised by all the internet left.
Then, after saying he'll talk to our enemies, he's saying he will bomb one of our few Islamic allies, Pakistan. Regardless of the policital upheaval such an act would create, he says he will commit an act of war against a nuclear power. That's simply shocking. While Bush and both Clintons have said they wouldn't rule it out, it's vastly different to say that it would be official US policy under a Obama presidency.
Then, he unilaterally takes the nuclear option off the table, regardless of the situation. No president since 1945 has used nuclear weapons, and part of the reason is that they had that big stick behind them. It prevented war many times with the Soviet Union, and is a strong deterrent against any attack on the US. Saying he would not use nukes, no matter what, is foolish.

Rep. James Oberstar, the Minnesota Democrat who chairs the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, blamed President George W. Bush's administration for shortchanging road and bridge repair in a highway funding bill two years ago.

Bush, he said, "failed to support a robust investment in surface transportation," adding the president insisted on only $2 billion a year for bridge reconstruction when lawmakers were pushing for $3 billion a year.

The greed of US corporations matched by the failure of the government to check for safety violations on imports have threatened us through the food chain and now the toys we import have too much lead in the paint. It is time for US corporations to crack down on foreign imports. If those toys had been made in the us our children would not have been exposed to lead contamination. Congress continues to waste time attacking Bush instead of doing it's job and protecting the people.

Anybody else going? How many of you are afraid that the Pres is going to turn the military against their own people? PosiComatatus? I probably misspelled that. Basically everyone should be informed that the Pres had the PosiComatatus reversed . Meaning that the powers that be can have you shot by your own military.Look up Kent Univ.Protest. Anyone know how to properly spell this or care to elaborate that would be great. I'm only a poor little beggar girl. Just trying to raise the question, bring it out in the open beyond the smiling faces of the sold out media conglomerates and the crap they feed us mushrooms. Let's talk about this. I want some answers. Why is Bush still in office and Cheney? Why do we not have Universal Healthcare, like in France? ETC?
