I've seen a few questions asking about people being upset about Haliburton's move to Dubai. I don't understand why this upsets people. Why would you be okay with Frampton up until now, but be upset about where they locate their headquarters? Haliburton has been a "big evil" corporation for decades, and has profited off of war and the suffering of others for just as long. Who cares where they do business from--they're equally as evil here in the U.S. as they will be in Dubai. Theoretically, I suppose, it might mean less taxes paid to the U.S. government, but I doubt it's very much less, as they will continue to do business here, and I'm sure they get out of most of the taxes they're supposed to pay anyway. And, again, pay or not paying taxes shouldn't alter your fundamental opinion of their business purpose and practices. So, tell me, why are some of you suddenly upset now?

I'm the editor of my high school's yearbook. We are covering current events, but I'm one event short. Does anyone have ideas on something that teenagers would know a little bit? {We're trying to avoid the war.}

I would really appreciate the help. :)

In 2000, 2 black men with guns walked into the home of 3 white guys and 2 white women. The black men beat the men, stripped them naked, and threw them in a closet. They then repeatedly raped the 2 white women. They ordered the 3 men out of the closet and made them perform sexual acts on the white females. A little later they forced the naked men and women into the trunk of their car and drove to an atm machine where they made them withdrawl money from their bank accounts. They returned to their home and once again took turns raping the women. Finally they loaded them up into their truck and drove them to a nearby field. The black men lined the 5 nude victims up and shot each one in the back of the head. Upon leaving they ran over the bodies with their truck.
Not ONE national news station or paper made even a mention of this horrific massacre. Unfortunately, these are not isolated crimes. However you wouldn't know that as they are surppressed by the media.

Trying to eradicate AIDS in Africa?
For as long as the Pope doesn't allow condoms many Africans won't entertain the idea of using a condom. And even then it would probably an assault on the average African male ego to put a bit of plastic over their manhood.

It was the 'Red' campaign that got me wondering. Your thoughts?

Bush to Meet With New Mexican President
By DEB RIECHMANN
AP
MERIDA, Mexico (March 13) - Mexican President Felipe Calderon has a tough message for President Bush : The United States must do more - "much more" - to solve thorny issues of drug-trafficking and immigration .

Bush's five-nation tour of Latin America is acting as a counterweight to Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's leftist leader who is carrying the flag for the leftward shift in Latin America. The Mexican leader has said he's not interested in being Bush's front man for battling Chavez' rising influence.

The biggest hurdle, Bush said, is figuring out what to do with the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States. The president has proposed a guest worker plan that would allow legal employment for foreigners and give some illegals a shot at becoming American citizens. Critics say this rewards unlawful behavior.

"There will not be amnesty, automatic citizenship," Bush said Monday in Guatemala before a short flight to Mexico. "It's just not going to happen. Nor is it feasible to try to kick everybody out of our country. That's not possible. And so I'm going to work with members of both parties to find a rational middle ground."

Calderon has lambasted the U.S. decision to build the new border fence - a mix of physical barriers and high-tech virtual fencing. He likens it to the Berlin Wall, and argues that both countries need to improve Mexico's economy to lessen the desire to seek work in the United States.
