When it hits $5 a gallon, I think a lot of people will feel the effects. At prices of $3 and above, we did see some changes in our economy. We need to get away from our addiction to the black stuff and go green.
Only economics will force people to change.

Gas prices started making me mad at 1.95 per gallon. I drive 60 miles round trip to work and back five days a week. I have dramatically cut back on my traveling on the weekends. I blame an anonymous figure ( I see him as a fat, bald man smoking a stogie in a wife beater shirt with his feet propped up on a desk, laughing at us all for paying exorbitant gas prices). At one point, gas was down in my state from 2.50 to 1.99, which, even though I think this is outrageous, it was an acceptable level. It's now back up to 1.40, with the morning news blaming "demand." How could demand increase that much in a few weeks' time. THERE IS NO WAY TO CURTAIL THIS - WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO SUCK IT UP. I live in a rural area, where there is no mass transportation, so we have no option but to drive.

Well, I only make one trip into town a day. I got to class, work and shopping. Once I get home, I don't go out again unless I have to, to reduce how much gas I use. I think that the oil people in the middle east (who we are helping out) should be lowering gas prices as long as my boys are over there fighting for them. However, I do remind myself that we have the cheapest gas in the world in America...

Anything over twenty five cents a gallon is a rip off...when the oil company's show billions and billions of profit each quarter it is nothing but crooked...
