Does anyone have it?

I think it's because they hate freedom. It's as simple as that.

They see someone with rights and it makes them furious.

If we weren't a free country, they wouldn't be attacking us.

9/11 never would have happened if the U.S. were a dictatorship.

So, why do they hate freedom so much? Why does freedom make them want to kill?

...American liberals/dems want to remove American troops from Iraq, pronto. They are making moves to defund the effort. Are liberals considering the many repercussions of surrendering to the terrorist insurgents in Iraq? Please explain your position whatever it may be. Thanks...and if you are a liberal, please answer the question I posted. I`m sure you were getting ready to go off on a tangent of some sort...Thanks again !

I think that they are smart enough to know that virtually all Americans are supportive of them notwithstanding the wisdom (or lack thereof) of the mission. It is almost ludricous how each side is so desperate to be painted as the supportive side. In 20 years, today's debate over who really supports the troops will look like lowbrow comedy. Don't you think?

Stop treating the troops like children. They're mature enough not to be told who's supportive and who's not.

What happened to free speech, what happened to living in a free country and how far will this political correctness go? People bash Christians all the time and nothing is done about it. There is never a public appology.

Have you ever seen them painted in a positive light in mainstream media like FOX, or CNN? By positive, I mean not being stereotyped or associated with the "terrorist" or "extremist" label. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist, but he was Christian - how ironic that you never see the label "Christian terrorist" in the media.

how do we know these iraqi's are not undercover terrorists or have intent to harm us when they are allowed us citizenship? are there background checks being done or is it just a free ride to the states for 7k terrorists? I have nothing against Iraqis who are legitimately trying to move to a new country to start a new life but how do we know we are not endangering our citizens who pay taxes for a false sense of security?

What are things that are very previlant in the public eye right now that people are overly worried about. For example, in the 70's people thought we would run out of food by 1998, and said that population control was the answer, now the nations that implimented population control are suffering worse than all the rest. what are some moder equivelents?

I've always felt a responsibility to educate myself about current national and international affairs, but I usually get overwhelmed by the variety and quantity of publications available for fulfilling this responsibility.

I subscribe to a newspaper now, but rarely have the patience to read it because most of the articles inundate readers with details about a single recent incident without giving a broader, generalized context for the story (for instance, an article might focus on a single car bombing without restating why there is even a war going on in the Middle East).

Given my dilemma, it seems like my question is two-fold.

First, what are the best sources for getting the "reader's digest" version of current national and international affairs?

And secondly, once a general understanding has been reached, what are the best sources for daily enhancing that knowledge?
