I really don't think so - at least militarily. I think that President Bush is just trying to talk tough to them in an effort to try and get them to take this entire nuke problem a bit more seriously.

The truth be told, the President of Iran is already under a mountain of pressure at home. The Iranian economy sucks and he hasn't come good on a lot of his original election promises either. That spells big trouble for his political career WITHOUT any intervention by the United States.

Also, if the United States attacked Iran in any way they could forget about the 'reformist' Iranians continuing to slowly change the country to a more moderate country as some of them are trying to do now. Iranians are very patriotric (just like Americans) and you can bet that they would all bond together and give an angry response to any United States attack.

I also don't think that the United States will attack Iran because there is another way that they can hurt Iran really badly. That is by getting the Saudis (OPEC's biggest player) not to cut their oil production, as Iran wants them to do. See, if there is more oil on the market (more so then the demand dictates) then the price of oil will stay stable or even fall. Any kind of a price change in oil affects Iran big time as they depend upon their oil revenues heavily. If the price of oil ever goes down to $40 or $50/barrel again... you'll hear the Iranians moaning in their misery all the way around the world.

I believe that some of this behind the scenes stuff on oil production is happening as we speak. Don't forget.... the Saudis don't want Iran to become a huge and untamed power in the Middle East either.

Hell yeah! That country has been pushing everyone's buttons lately. They threaten the security of the entire region.Sure they were/are probably the 2nd largest supplier of crude oil to the U.S. 3rd being Venezuela until the Psycho leaders of both countries decided to start their anti U.S. rhetoric. The Saudis also hate the crap out of us but their smart, they tone it down and sell us their oil because its good business.I'm not the smartest man in the world, but you figure a country sitting on that much crude oil wouldn't be a 3rd world country. The people of that country would like to see the government do more for them. Anti-American/Israeli speeches don't help them none. Hopefully that country can change their stance on Nuclear Proliferation,Then we could all get along a little better.I don't think a country with those views should be allowed to be a nuclear power.Like in India and Pakistan, what good did their development of nuclear weapons do?Did they keep each other in check?Thousands are still dying in both those countries of hunger! Go Figure.

I hope that the issue will be settled diplomatically or that the Iranians will rebel against the current president. The people have been very unhappy with the Islamic customs that hold them back, and many of them want to Westernize.
If we do go after them with force, it'll be hard and dirty.

Well Suzy I sure hope not.If we let their people handle their government we would be alright 2/3rds of their country don't like the leadership. But if we start bombing them they will unite against us.Watch Glen Beck he explains this all the time with people who are concerned about America and not votes or oil.

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
