...American liberals/dems want to remove American troops from Iraq, pronto. They are making moves to defund the effort. Are liberals considering the many repercussions of surrendering to the terrorist insurgents in Iraq? Please explain your position whatever it may be. Thanks...and if you are a liberal, please answer the question I posted. I`m sure you were getting ready to go off on a tangent of some sort...Thanks again !

Have the conservs ever given any thought to what Iraq has become since we went in (under false pretenses). How could people be so DUMB as to get involved in a religious/clan based fued that has been going on for centuries??? There certainly weren't any insurgency problem before we got there. Anyhoo, I fail to see how our presence there is making things better.
The one thing that I really agreed with John Kerry on was when he said "Who wants to be the last person to die for a mistake?"
I deeply admire our soldiers for the sacrifices they make, and I feel horrible that they are used for political purposes.
God bless what America stands for, but not what its currently doing. Please spare me the love it or leave it BS. All you do is show your ignorance of what this country truly stands for.
*Rebuttal to comments=Very mature use of the word anus. I apologize for assuming you were a semi-intelligent person who can make an OBVIOUS inference. So I will spell it out for you in a more simple manner. Sorry, no pop-up book, so you will have to read= I do not think the situation in Iraq will get any worse than it already is if we leave TOMORROW. One repercussion there would be is that extremists wouldn't be able to take pot shots at our troops 24 hours a day. Sunnis and Shiites have been killing each other for centuries, and will continue to do so whether we are there or not.

I don't think it matters what the US does in Iraq: leave, stay, send more troops, bring some troops home. The Dems or Reps aren't going to make a bit of difference, no matter what they choose to do. When the US got involved, Iran had a vicious dictatorship that held a country together with feuding religious factions by force. After the dictator was removed by the US, the centuries of vicious religious feuding continued. So if the Dems get the American troops out, Iran will be in the same shape it was in before Sadaam. If the Reps make the troops stay, Iran will still have a vicious civil war going on.
This democracy idea is a pipe dream. You don't change centuries of ethnic, religious, and political differences overnight. Actually, there is more terrorist activity going on in Iraq now than there was before the US invasion, according to many of our own American generals. I think we've managed to create an ideal spot for anti-American terrorists to gather and recruit. Ending this war may actually calm the region down more than staying and remaining a target for anti-American hatred and resentment.

I was anti invasion of Iraq. All reasons the current admin gave for invasion were exaggerated or fraudulent. This is FACT.
However, now we are there. If we leave now it will become a haven for anti US terrorism. We must stay for many years to come to ensure a future stable government there. This will be very costly for the US. We must all be ready to pay the price of higher taxes to pay for the occupation and safety of our troops. Loss of life is inevitable. If you don't want our boys to die or pay higher taxes you should not have supported the war to Begin with.
Any other option will result in more terrorist activities against the US. Greater expensive and loss of freedoms for all US Citizens.

The war in Iraq is insane. There was no call for it and I'm sure you've all the answers why I say this. Hopefully because I don't wish to go through all the facts again. You Americans keep looking at the world through Hollywood movies and TV shows. You have no idea of what is real and what is not. Its criminal how unknowing you are in your comfortable houses. Anything that you think protects your right to live in splendor while you create unrest in the rest of the world. You know. this is one planet and you are going to have to live with and hopefully with some integrity.

I am totally against this war, but I think the democrats should give bush all the money he wants, so they cant come later and blame the democrats for another lost war, and lose this war they surely will, no matter how many more troops they send.
