I've just watched the full execution video, from the mobile phone footage, and I - for some bizarre reason - feel sorry for the poor guy.

I'm not saying what he did wasn't wrong - it was terrible, and he had to be punished for it, but is hanging someone in 2007 really the right message to send people?

Surely a life sentence would have been acceptable????

Also, does anyone want to discuss the possibility of the Saddam video being a FAKE???? (Why did the phone camera suddenly turn away, the moment "Saddam" dropped through the trapdoor?)

I saw the whole video of the execution, and after he is hanged they show his face, on the ground, and all these people are taking pictures of him, so his face is lightened by the flashes...and I know his eyes are meant to be open, also his mouth, because he was talking, but I could swear he was agonizing...cause I saw like his mouth moved a little...

If you saw the video, what do you think? Did he die instantly or did it took a little for him to die?

1. i can read, enough to know you people are blind and ignorant
2. i am a liberal, if that means that i dont agree with us continuing to be in a war, and dont know what we are fighting for anymore
3. "free Iraq", from what i c on the news america made it worst than what it was.
4.Sadam didn't attack us osama did
5. they never found weapons of mass destruction
6. why is more and more of our children being killed over there
7. why is it we have billions of dollars for war, but we dont have 2ct for schools or the poor or the hungry in this country.
8. america is always going across seas to fight someone else's battles,and help other countries, and neglect people in this country (ex. katrina)
9.hundreds of troops actually want to come home
10. i dont see america rushing over to somalia, or kenya to stop them from killing their people and fighting.
11. too busy fighting and not paying attention to the world melting.

I think suffering for a longer period of time in prison (in a filtlhy cell and little to eat, and not having any contact with the outside world), may have been more undifined for Saddam than simple death.

I've just heard on the News that the TV adverts have to be changed now. They are not allowed to advertise CHEESE, MARMITE or JAFFA CAKES (plus more) during Childrens TV Programmes. As the Do Googers say that they are unhealthy foods!! Is this world going mad?? Yes we know children need a varied healthy diet, but this is just too much. These 'Do Gooders' are going way over the top. Opinions please.
